Enlightenment.

Enlightenment, I've seen this word used and abused. Most often in the West Civ it is associated with Renaissance. In that sense it's associated with scientific, artistic etc progress as inspired by Greek founders of West Civ. In European culture someone enlightened is well educated, erudite of sorts. But, the term enlightenment has a deeper spiritual meaning as in Buddhism, where enlightenment is a total destruction of mind's impurities or defilements. An enlightened person is someone like Buddha, serene and all wise. So, what's enlightenment to you?

After studying the period that gave rise to Enlightenment, I have to now consider all the little creepy boy's clubs founded and already operating during the era. They founded nations and waged wars, and even to today, thanks to the year 1945, liberals maintain power worldwide in a way perhaps unthinkable to our ancestors. Not even so with the UN and etc. but with the various constitutions and government types dotted around the globe bearing the symbols and ideologies of the many Enlightenment secret societies of Europe.

As for my personal opinion of Enlightenment ideology/civics and its relevancy to the woes of today's world, is that it serves nothing more than an excuse to bypass ethnicity in politics. If America is such a free and enlightened nation, why can't I feel comfortable talking about it at times? No, you know what you guys, let us just talk about the latest 'reality' show and which SuperBowl commercial we like best...
