It sounds kind of like my thing. I'm not good at just going into a bar or a party and putting myself out there. I'm shy and I think also guys who like me are intimidated in some way to ask me out or pursue me. I've often had boys show interest, look at me in a very direct way, and never make any kind of move to get my number or talk to me more. The good thing about speed dating is, everyone is there for the same reason (hopefully) and there is no pressure about rejecting a person. However, I'm a bit skeptical about the kind of people that would go to such an event. I definitely don't want a guy who is shy and has a difficult time with women (seems like the type that would try speed dating) and I have strong reservations about him not being older than 25. It doesn't seem like something that healthy young males would think of getting into and I would feel real uncomfortable if I got there and there were few people in their early twenties. So, has anyone tried speed dating and knows the type of people that go to such events? About how much does it usually cost for one night?

Sounds intresting. Could be worth a try. But now it is too early for me.
I have to wait some years in order to mature.

You'll get shy nerds or desperate 40-50 yr olds. Tell me where you live and I'll come and abduct you and take you to my castle!

I doubt I'd ever be desperate enough to try it. It's so unbelievably artificial.

Tried it once. Started drinking beers in the pub I patronize, but ended up pub crawling. Had a flirty chat with at least one girl in every pub I visited that night. It was very speedy and interesting, but also extremely exhausting.

Bottom line speed dating gives you headache.:D

Nope.
My girl was my high school crush.
We met up in library, cafetaria, parks...

I have once approched it and it was okay but too much at once.

You might as well keep dating balanced.

It's popular here in England as well. English girls are too shy to meet up otherwise. But nowadays they use dating sites ... there are plenty of them out there.

You are probably going to meet a lot of weird people in a very short time. I think that would be fun.

Nope, online dating is cheaper and far more efficient.
