there are not many vbulletin-based forums that are larger, based on cultural topics.

Of course. Apparently, that forum is mostly based on anime anyway; it can't really be compared to something that includes heavy discussions on culture and anthropology.

Pretty much this, and your policy of free speech has made one of a kind place on Internet. For that sir, I salute you :thumb001:

What I enjoy is the unique atmosphere of this forum, and the variety of characters: both real and fake.:p There aren't many clusters of people who agree and disagree on everything, including peripheral topics. I found that on other forums, there are cliques, for example, where everybody must agree with their buddies and disagree with their enemies. I find that most people are very honest here, and provide their honest opinions. Everybody is very developed individually, as well as socially. This is no doubt because of your free speech policy Loki, which makes this forum excellent. The quality of the posts here are also well above average; most are well thought out, and like I've said in many other posts in the past - almost everybody is educated and intelligent. This makes discussion fun, because you're not talking to a wall that can't understand what you're saying, and therefore misses your point entirely.

This forum can get quite addicting though. ;)

Can't argue with success. Loki has managed to expand this forum by allowing it to move in a more mainstream direction with a diverse and growing membership, yet preserving politically incorrect free speech. Despite the variety of opinions here, the conversations are mostly civil and thoughtful, but with a little harmless mudslinging here and there.

It's a difficult balancing act. Not sure it's been successfully done anywhere else.

I also think the forum has changed a lot since I first joined. I remember when I joined, I was made fun of by many for my ancestry (although it never deterred me!), and now we have a much larger range of people here of all backgrounds and mindsets, and have definitely progressed to be a more inclusive community :)

Eh, that was less than a year ago

It took us 4 years to get to 1 million posts. But now, only less than a year later, we are edging towards 1.6 million! Indeed accelerated growth. We're going to have our hands full in the near future

When I started the forum I said my goal was a community of 1 million posts and 10,000 members. Been there, done that basically. But when I said that members mocked me and called me crazy :p

What's the next target?

i dont get it if i google a topic which i know only i did it, same title no results. Only if write apricity besides it i can find it, with abf i dont need that to do. I use google a lot of times searching for topics because it goes faster and more precisely instead using the search tool here.

But like i said why is it so hard to find apricity on the internet if this site is so popular?

Very good point! I don't know the answer yet .. but I will definitely look into it. Search engine optimization can be tricky.
