This thread is about motorcycles, motorcycling & motorcyclists. :thumbs up

Who rides?

Who doesn't ride but would like to/has thought about a motorcycle as transportation?

What's your dream bike? :)

I ride. I have two bikes--a 1980 Kawasaki KL250 on/off road bike. Currently, it's a bit under the weather and could use a restoration. It is almost 30 years old, afterall. I'm hoping to tackle this project over the coming winter.

I also have a 1982 Suzuki GS650G. This is my main bike which I ride as often as possible during our short riding season. I've been putting on about 5000 miles (~8000 KM) per year for the past few years.

Here she is:

My dream bike would be a Triumph Thunderbird. Oh yeah.

Nice Suzuki!! Love the bags too!! I have been looking the past year for a street/commuting type bike. About 50 miles a day; mountains, little traffic. What do you think of the Suzuki GS650G? I know how to ride but never have owned a bike. Is it a good learning bike too?

Does a Vespa count? :D

I don't own one nor have I ever ridden one but I would love one!! I could see myself bombing around in one of these bad boys (ha! :D) all while sporting a matching sparkly helmet (I'm such a girl! :D)

I've never owned one. Although my rides on motorcycle make me want to purschase one. A lot better than a car (well beside a Mercedes SLR) but damn cold in winter.

Yeah, those old 'Zuks' were great bikes--bullet-proof comes to mind. ;)

I'd certainly recommend one for a beginner or a seasoned veteren. OK, maybe not the 1100 for a beginner but the 550s, 650s even an 850 if you've got a few miles under your belt.

Being of the late 70s/early 80s vintage, it's handy to know how to turn a wrench & use a multi-meter. ;)

I ride mine to work all the time--60 miles round trip. :thumbs up

Owning a Vespa might actually be pretty cool.

Livin' the dream with my Vespa:

I would need the clothes and the babe to come with it though. That completes the image.

And here is a picture of me leaving last year's Halloween party with my old Vespa. I called it "NoMo the Muslim whacker".

My Dad was a Mod in his more youthful days and would bore us to death with his stories and sightseeing visits to the "historic" sites of the pitched battles between the Mods and Rockers.

The only two stories I cared to listen to back then (as compared to today, I would sit there as if super glue was holding me in place to hear the stories of my elders) were the one where he would pinpoint the reason why his Vespa was the superior bike compared to the Rockers choice. The legs of the Rockers were more exposed to assaults, whereas the Mods were safe and sound tucked in with their legs faced forward.

The other was the story of how he skipped school with his mates to go to Liverpool and the Cavern Club to watch The Beatles play, and being stuck behind a pillar and not actually seeing the majority of the show.

As for my bike of choice, it would have to be this

I may as well make some money on my travels. :D

In all seriousness it would be something like this

I shamed my father by becoming a rocker and having the belief that Yoko Ono had a positive effect on Lennon. You should have seen his face when I dropped that one on him.
