I think the opinion of the women of lower value should not count indeed, but the most intelligent of them (and not necessarily the best looking) tend to favour monogamy because of the comfort of the couple.

But I think for men it can get boring quickly, polygamy can be a very good thing if the number of women exceeds that of men, as can be seen today in some European countries.

There are different kinds of women and different kinds of relationships. From my personal experience I can say some women don't mind their man sticking his willy into 'other holes' and some even like it and willing to participate. They still have their own reasons to be with the man and its not always those you listed.

I assume by polygamy you mean hooking up with girls from clubs or whatever right? If so, I would prefer monogamy because when you're in a relationship, regular sex is pretty much guaranteed. For me, sex isn't about the quality (e.g. variety), it's about the quantity.

Going after a new partner is always a stress one way or another. You never know if it will be any good and if an effort you put in will be rewarded one way or another. Some people like the risk but most prefer to make it as rare occasion as possible.

Also the best satisfaction one can get is from a partner who know well what one like and what don't.

There are plenty of examples around. Don't need a statistic research to see the most happiest are the people in one long lasting relationship with a few generation of numerous descendants.

I would strongly prefer monogamy, under the condition that the sex is frequent, regular and "guaranteed" to an extent (e.g. girlfriend/wife).

I prefer quantity over quality when it comes to sex, so it makes sense for me to support monogamy as a reliable source of sex is the best way for me to fill my sexual needs. For those of you who say sex isn't frequent, regular or "guaranteed" in marriage (in many marriages this is unfortunately the case), I simply wouldn't marry a woman if she was sexually selfish.
