SARAJEVO -- Bosnia and Macedonia have announced that they would launch a new investigation into the circumstances under which Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski died.
Trajkovski was killed in a plane crash in the Bosnian airspace eight and a half years ago. The deadly accident happened near Mostar, in Herzegovina.
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina has announced that Macedonian Minister of Transport Mile Janakieski presented a document to his Bosnian counterpart Damir Hadžić that contained new findings regarding the accident.
The two officials agreed to establish a joint working group made up of experts from both countries, that would be tasked with submitting a report by September.
Sotir Kostov, who heads a Macedonian commission set up to investigate the crash, recently told Al Jazeera television that his country was now in possession of "four new pieces of evidence" that may help shed the light on the circumstances of the accident.
In the wake of the February 2004 crash, the authorities in Bosnia-Herzegovina determined that weather conditions and a pilot error brought the aircraft down, while the local media blamed French troops from international peacekeeper force SFOR, who were performing air traffic control from the Mostar airport.

Macedonians think he was assassinated but I really don't see any motive. He agreed to the Ohrid Framework so he wasn't a roadblock to Western ambitions in any way...
