It is very important for a country that seeks prosperity to have a base for it.
A base that Bulgaria has...:thumb001:

BTW this isn't just EU's second lowst, but olso Europe's second lowest!

Bulgaria Had EU's 2nd Lowest Debt-to-GDP Q1 2012

Bulgaria had a debt-to-GDP ratio of 16.7% at the end of the first quarter of 2012, the bloc's second lowest in that period, Eurostat has revealed.

The lowest debt-to-GDP ratio was recorded in Estonia (6.6%).

The highest debt-to-GDP ratio at the end of the first quarter was recorded in Greece at 132.4 %, followed by Italy at 123.3%, Portugal at 111.7 % and Ireland at 108.5%.

In the 27-nation EU, the ratio at the end of the first quarter this year increased from 82.5% to 83.4% on a quarterly basis.

In terms of the forms of debt, securities other than shares accounted for 78.3% of the Eurozone's and 79.3% of the EU's general government debt by the end of third quarter in 2011, while loans made up 17.8% and 15.6%, respectively.

Currency and deposits represented 2.8% of euro area and 3.8% of EU27 government debt.

This is obviously good but wages need to rise for this to have a positive effect. What Bulgaria is doing right now is strangling her citizens with extremely low wages. Low debt to GDP ratio, yay, but it doesn't really mean much if her citizens are living on subsistence levels. The average wage in Estonia is around 800 euros vs Bulgaria's 200 euros. It's not really comparable.

Having so low debt is not that good thing in our capitalist world unless the country has rich energy sources like oil or natural gas.

If a country doesn't have a debt ratio around 40-50% percent of it`s GDP, then this means the country have a closed economy, don't have enough credibility in the world or a stagnant economy.

Afaik, the healthy debt ratio of a country in a capitalist world is around 40% of it`s GDP. If a country keeps it`s debt level as such, that means they have a vibrant economy by providing enough income to pay it`s own debt without a problem and have credibility to get loans when necessary.

No shit
Maybe we should follow Turkey's strategy and stimulate a fictional growth that will exploude like a bubble...

Or maybe Macedonia who by 2017 will be a a mini Greece.

Or maybe Serbia- a country for which now the question isn't will it go bankrupt but when or in the best scenario-at what cost it wont go bankrupt...

Or Romania which is now poroperty owned by the IMF?

Or Croatia?

The truth is my bud's
Bulgaria's economy is the healthiest on the balkans...
No need for me to brag about it just look at the stats from the IMF,World Bank...about the expected growth of Bulgaria's GDP in the following years.

Bulgaria at the moment is keeping the second lowest debt in Europe and in the same time building the most infrastructure on the balkans!

Can someone beat that?
