Funny that you mention her, she is also part Baltic (Latvian or Lithuanian).

But i don't think they're similar. Agnė looks more exotic, imo.

I've heard rumors that she is half Lithuanian, but it haven't been confirmed, right? And some Finns told me that she actually looks Finnish.

I've heard rumors that she is half Lithuanian, but it haven't been confirmed, right? And some Finns told me that she actually looks Finnish.

I remember that thread. Some Finn(s) said that 1. her surname is atypical for a Russian, 2. Her possible Baltic roots supposedly makes it clear why she looks Finnish.
I have given proofs why her surname could be a slavified Lithuanian surname.
As for rumours, someone found a source saying that she has ancestors from the Baltics. But I don't know how reliable that source is.

Her father, Lithuanian actor, film director and musician Olegas Ditkovskis

http://s017.radikal.ru/i438/1207/c3/7055c0330359.jpg

He's Russian from Lithuania, not ethnic Lithuanian.

"Olegas" is a Russian name, ethnic Lithuanians never name their children like that.
"Ditkovskis" is not a Lithuanian surname either, if it at least had went through Lituanization, it would be spelled "Ditkauskas" - but it's not which means that his paternal side were recent immigrants.

he certainly is not an ethnic Russian, an ethnic Russians have not renounce his name and surname.

Encyclopedia disagrees with you :p

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oleg
Oleg (Russian: Олег), Oleh (Ukrainian: Олег), or Aleh (Belarusian: Алег) is a Slavic given name.

The surname may be Jewish too but it's certain that it isn't Lithuanian:

Oleg - Russian name, Olegas - Lithuanian : D
Why the Russian name may not be an international?
DITKOWSKI - may be Polish, Belarusian, Jewish surname, but why do you say that he is Russian?

Her surname Ditkovskite doesn't sound Russian to me. I think it's Lithuanian from what I can tell.

Linkus, I've somewhere read that parents didn't name him Oleg, he changed his name to Oleg during Soviet period to avoid some problems. His real name was Algis or something like that i.e. Lithuanian.

I've read it in a printed magazine I think. Tried to google it and look what I found out:
He changed not only his name but also a surname. (http://ru.delfi.lt/misc/celebrities/article.php?id=49443140&com=1&s=2&no=40)

Her surname Ditkovskite doesn't sound Russian to me. I think it's Lithuanian from what I can tell. The ending is Lithuanian. We have to add endings to ALL foreign surnames so as to be able to decline them ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithuanian_declension ). If you took out Lithuanian passport, married a lovely Kurdish lady and the two of you had daughter, in your daughter's passport it would be written "Memobekaite" and not "Memobekes" ;)

In order to determine whether a surname is Lithuanian or Slavic one has to look at it's root & suffix. As I said, if Mr Ditkovkis' paternal line hadn't been recent immigrant, it would be transcribed Ditkauskas, not Ditkovskis since -auskas is the standard way to transcribe Slavic suffix -owski.

Oleg - Russian name, Olegas - Lithuanian : D
Why the Russian name may not be an international?Because, especially in the past century, Lithuanians tended to be rather nationalistic. "Olegas" cannot be international, same as Tatjana, Ludmila, Borislav, Boleslav cannot.

Slavic names which can be international are: Stanislov (LT Stasys), Vladislav (LT Vladas), Zita.

DITKOWSKI - may be Polish, Belarusian, Jewish surname, but why do you say that he is Russian?Ok, I jumped to a conclusion here. He may be some other kind of Slav too, or Jewish.

Interesting. Here it says that he was originally Algis Ditkovskis (http://pramogos.delfi.lt/people/article.php?id=49484572&com=1&s=5&no=20), so, you're right - he changed his name, but not surname, it seems.
