View Full Version : Predict Olympic Opening

PeacefulCaribbeanDutch
07-27-2012, 04:27 AM
The opening ceremony is supposed to represent the country of England and introduce the olympics, China's 2008 opening was jaw dropping and the english said they wouldn't even try to compete and I wouldn't either beause no country in the world in my opinion could do an opening like the chinese did, but lets guess what the english will do for fun!

Whoever predicts the closest to how the opening ceremony will be tommorow wins!

Here's mine

Opening: Stone henge, with ancient pagan flute type music
slowly nordic knights come they find peace
In comes two royal like figures to classical music and a giant classical orchestra comes up and a giant "ball room dance" begins with beautiful lights and LCD's and a great orchestra plays.. then

everything goes dark and a giant chior comes out and out comes Patrick Stewart to do something from Shakespear

then a sweep comes in of a bit of scottish dancing for a short bit with celtic music and BAM

Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr come out playing a beatles tune whom are soon joined by the singer of Muse who starts to sing we are the champions from queen

After this you get a dark spotlight, it's Sir Elton John and Adelle sing a piano version of Rolling in the deep which is soon joined by a giant orchestra to a giant Elten + Adelle rolling in the deep duet.

finally a lone red phone booth drops down from the air and out comes Dr.Who and says "Your not dreaming! Welcome to the london olympic games!"

lol oh and david beckham kicks a ball through the olympic loops but its blocked by harry potter riding a broom somewhere around there.

Its amazingly funny. I am always very impressed by the timing, and the dry way people express it. Some of the humor is also so subtle to me that it takes a second or two to even realize it was a zing. But my very favorite type is the Monty Python type- sweet silliness.

And great opening ceremony, London. I've seen more Black- and Asian than White people by the host town.
It hasn't gone un-noticed, even for London they were massively over-representing the Colonising minorities. That is to be expected though due to the Narcissitic Liberal organisers wanting to show how "Multi-cultural" we are. In reality, that doesn't represent anywhere outside the cesspit known as East London.

I would need to see it on computer, because in Maine on this mountain, I get only three local TV channels, not national channels. I use the computer instead, for just about everything.

They should have hired you to direct and produce the ceremonies. Boyle seems like a nice man who is great at what he does for a living, but the stuff before the parade of nations made me react like this::cool::confused::eek::rolleyes: It's a shame that the first part wasn't nearly as outstanding as the last part. The James Bond skit was cool, though.

The multicultural emphasis was OTT. And this is coming from someone who's multi-ethnic, himself. You would think that the UK has the same demographics and ethnic composition as Brazil. Maybe they were just giving a preview of 2016.
