Putin is a dictator; so is Assad and so was Ghaddafi. Dictators take care of each other so that they can milk and abuse their populaces. Diplomacy has been tried in Syria, and it didn't work; I'm not saying that there should be intervention, but this guy really needs to find heroes other than Czar Putin if he wants to look like anything other than a shill for autocracy.

Assad is better than al-Qaida. If he is overthrown, Syria will descend into chaos and be taken over by Sunni fanatics who will massacre Christians and the Alawis.
