A female rower on Germany's Olympic team has left London after rumours surfaced that she was in a relationship with a neo-Nazi.

Nadja Drygalla, 23, left after a long conversation with German Olympic officials about the allegations that her boyfriend was a leading member of the “Rostock National Socialists” and had fought a state election for a neo-Nazi party.

“Ms Drygalla declared at the end of our conversation that she would leave the Olympic village in order not to be a burden for the Olympic team. The German Rowing Association welcomes this decision,” said Michael Vesper chef de Mission of the German Olympic Association.

The rumours had also led to Drygalla leaving her training position with the police, Die Welt newspaper reported on Friday.

Uhm, in what kind of 'attitude/views dictature' do we live that people are held responsible for their partners? :1099: George Orwell's 1984 is now! That her husband is a member of the rightextremist party NPD shouldn't be a problem: The political party is still legal and not forbidden!

I doubt that athlets who were in a relationship with a leftwing or socialist party would be held responsible for their partner and had to leave the Olympic Games! :033102st:

I agree with you, Leliana. This is total bullshit. She is not her partner's keeper:rolleyes:

The more I have been reading on here lately regarding Germany, the more it is dawning on me that they are suffering from a real self-hatred problem. I can think of no other way to put it, and it is terrible to see.

I cannot begin to imagine how you as a proud German feels, witnessing this shit all around you in your own homeland. For this, I am sorry:(

I do not expect any better from any kind of official. They are all liberal political prostitutes.

However I admire the decision of this woman. She definitely had a choice to either leave the man and follow her own ambitions or to put her personal sport career aside and stand by her man. She choose the man and for that she have my deepest respect.

A German Olympic rower has a Neo-Nazi boyfriend, and now that people have called her out on it, she’s decided to leave London early.

Nadja Drygalla is leaving on her own terms — though she’s already done competing — “so as not to be a burden for the team.”

Media reports said her boyfriend was a leading member of the “Rostock National Socialists” and had fought a state election for the far-right National Democratic Party (NPD).

Germany’s intelligence agency describes the party as racist, anti-Semitic and inspired by the Nazis. Its local election campaigns blame immigrants for crime and unemployment and its supporters are mostly unemployed young men with little education in depressed areas of the east.
Um, yeah. Doesn’t sound like something you want to associate yourself with.

Drygalla had a “90-minute conversation with German officials” before coming to her decision.

The German rowing federation said in a statement that it welcomed Drygalla’s decision.

“We will have another conversation with Nadja Drygalla in August after the Olympic Games. After that we will decide together with her how to proceed,” said Siegfried Kaidel, the head of the federation.
Germany is obviously in the habit of forcefully disconnecting any remaining ties, however faint, to Nazism. Asking Drygalla to leave was a no-brainer.

The IOC spoke out, too, with a brief (kind of insensitive!) statement.

There is no issue for us regarding the rower. I have seen the report. But as far as the Games are concerned, she has not done anything wrong.

She is not responsible for her boyfriend. How could anyone care who she is dating or why?

Personally I would have made the opposite choice as she did and not choose love over career but I applaud her for making a choice not many would.

I'm sure if the American, black gymnast gabrielle douglas' father or brother were in the black panthers advocating violence against whites, nobody would care; but if that was flipped..

Disgusting, Germans [and the rest of us in this corrupt West] need real leaders. This is the future for America as well, if Obama is re-elected. We still have our freedom of expression here, but I have no idea for how long. The common citizen practically bullies anybody if their beliefs don't align with his brainwashed garbage mind. Police tell children who call blacks "niggers" that they can get fined, while the blacks who throw rocks are applauded (I've seen this), for example. Whatever happened to, "stick or stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me?" At this point, I want these societies to crumble so the peoples can create nation-states they deserve.

A scandal has erupted in London over the alleged association of a German athlete with neo-Nazi elements back home.

Nadja Drygalla, a member of the German women’s eight Olympic rowing team has left the Olympic Village, according to a press release issued by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) Thursday night.

Although the release did not specify the reasons for her sudden departure, German public broadcaster ARD reports that the 23-year-old ex-police officer is suspected of sympathizing with right-wing extremist ideology and of being associated with an official from the far-right National Democratic Party (NPD), which authorities describe as racist, revisionist, hostile to the constitution and sympathetic to extremist right-wing ideology. The party is, however, legal and has representatives in both state and municipal assemblies, primarily in eastern Germany.

According to the press release, the native of the northeastern city of Rostock “credibly confirmed that she subscribes to the values of the Olympic Charter and the principles laid down in the preamble of the DOSB bylaws.” Drygalla then reportedly decided on her own to leave the Olympic Village to avoid any possible distractions for the German Olympic squad. Vesper said that team managers “welcome this step.”

In the press release, Vesper said that the managers of the German Olympic squad had only learned of “findings related to the private environment” of Drygalla on Thursday. He added that this led to a “detailed and intense conversation” of over 90 minutes with Drygalla attended by Mario Woldt, the sports director of the German Rowing Federation (DRV).

Urging No Early Judgment

German Olympic officials held a press conference on Friday morning at the German House, where the DOSB and its sponsors provide VIP hospitality in London for the games. There, DOSB director general Michael Vesper said that Drygalla had left no doubt “that she firmly stood not only for the constitution, but also for the Olympic values.”

Vesper also rejected charges of guilt by association. “In Germany, thank God, there is the principle that each is responsible for one’s own deeds and not for one’s surroundings.” It would be unjust, he continued, “to define another person based on their personal surroundings,” adding that what is important for him is “how she thinks and acts.”

Although admitting that “the story is not without problems,” Vesper also used the occasion to defend German Olympic officials. “If we had had even the slightest indication that someone in our squad was xenophopic, this person wouldn’t have been on the Olympic squad,” he told the German sports news agency SID.

DRV President Siegfried Kaidel told the German news agency DPA that Drygalla had “affirmed several times that she had nothing to do with the far-right scene.”

Previous Rumors

Drygalla was in London with the German women’s eight rowing team, which was eliminated in the second round on Tuesday.

The DRV has announced that it intends to investigate Drygalla’s private life once the games have concluded, after which it will decide upon any possible consequences. DRV President Siegfried Kaidel told the SID on Friday that “we will speak with her in peace once we are back home” and that she will be allowed to continue to be associated with the organization if nothing comes of the investigation. However, he echoed Vesper’s calls against making premature judgments. “One can’t condemn her out of hand,” he said. “We never had any indications that there was anything to the accusations.”

Indeed, accusations against the German rower are not new, according to the German public broadcaster NDR. It says that rumors were already making the rounds last year that Drygalla was in a relationship with a leading member of “National Socialists Rostock,” a regional neo-Nazi organization, who also frequently contributed to a website associated with the NPD. Drygalla subsequently left the police force in September 2011, reportedly of her own volition.

Look how beautiful Nadja is:

One can easily imagine the appearance of the fanatical multiculturalists who have derailed the careers of these lovely young women. The words slovenly, hideous, and disgraceful come to mind, for a start. What's more, it all stands to reason: healthy, attractive, virile people have a natural attraction to nationalism (or at the very least have a sense of pride and self-worth), while any white person who subscribes to modern multiculturalism is clearly afflicted with an enormous amount of self-hatred.

(Of course, it goes without saying that no athlete who is linked with a leftist party or made a lighthearted joke about white people would ever get raked over the coals like these women did.)

She also lost her job within the police force for her "inappropriate" feelings. Anyway you would assume our sport organisations would have something better to do right now, like analysing the games and finding out what went wrong...

Its a a shame really, if you arent looking close enough, you could almost believe, you are living in a free country.

Insane, its the new "anti-racist" Inquisition... the constant and total ideological persecution to everyone who disagrees with the idea that the ruling elite want to impose. Against this ethno-masoquist scum, all the reaction is fair and reasonable.
