I would love to have french doors in my bedroom. That way I could lay in bed with the doors open, to hear the birds, and feel the breeze.

I was never happier to live anywhere else than when I lived in this little cottage in the middle of a rain forest, looking after a Guesthouse for the owners:

Those days the cottage was a bit shabbier and the lizards would get in. Often, I would wake up with many of them staring down at me from the rafters.
With all that wealth outside – who cared about the interiors!
My kind of ideal.

Nowadays I am content enough with my apartment in a gated community. Bigger & more modern & ‘designy’, but I’ve got a little patch of land and a large balcony next to a forest I couldn’t live without.
