View Full Version : My apologies to all

Eldritch

Some days ago, in a sad and rather embarrassing moment of all-encompassing despair, I posted a message in which I expressed the intention to kill myself.

They say suicide is not a choice, anymore than belching or farting is a choice. However despite my earlier post, I have never entertained any serious thought of actually killing myself.

There is fine but important distinction between wanting to die, and wanting to be dead. Despite the histrionics expressed in my earlier post, I doubt I'll ever be man enough to actually take steps to cause my own death.

I am profoundly ashamed and regretful for my self-pitying drama-queen antics. I apologise to everyone to whom I've caused distress, and I'm also thankful to all the supportive messages I've received.

I'll be fine for now, and I intend to slowly but surely re-integrate myself into this community.

Exordium. Thank the Gods you are alive. And for me it doesn't matter what the other people will say- it is my personal opinion that you need not to "slowly re-integrate" as you are one of our own.
Let's just be happy that you are safe and sound.

Welcome home.

“The thought of suicide is a powerful solace: by means of it one gets through many a bad night” - F.W. Nietzsche

Welcome back, Exordium.

It is not by any means improbable, actually.

That's actually kind of interesting.

And Exordium - while I never saw your original thread on this matter, I admire you for confessing the way you have and I don't think you have to worry about it reflecting badly upon your reputation at all.

I'm happy to see you posting here again, Exordium. All of us have ups and downs during our life. Just don't think about death this much again and all will be fine:wink

Isn't it that suicide rates go up during the summertime?

It is quite possible. Personally, I feel more depressed in summer than in winter.

Welcome back, Exordium, glad to hear you are feeling better!

Summer is more depressing then winter.

That's subjective. Personally it's the opposite.

If you still haven't understood, then Hors would be delighted if everyone who aren't Russian, would kill themselves. He especially wishes that for several Northern-European peoples.

It's Hors, you can expect everything from him:)

Err, I don't think it's subjective. Summer is definitely a lot more uplifting, objectively, isn't it? Certainly in northern-Europe anyway. (Some places it gets far too hot and that's a problem in itself).

I mean, in Finland it never even gets fully dark these days (mid summer), and the temperature is perfect for a European (20C).

Christ, man. Will you not do this sort of thing again? It gets the women all hot and bothered. I didn't comment before as I don't really know you, but think of how you affect everyone else next time, please.

A little misunderstanding there. While I agree summer is more uplifting, apparently it's not the case for everyone (http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showpost.php?p=64528&postcount=13) :p.

Using the word "gay" is gay. (Yes and I'm well aware of the neoplasm/tautology inherent in this statement as well).

Pleonasm, not neoplasm. Pleonasm is the use of more words or word-parts than are necessary for clear expression. Neoplasm is an abnormal mass of tissue.

Want some protoplasm instead?
