I've just seen a young man with a huge hole in his ear with the most delightful purple object keeping his pride and joy intact. I know I'm getting older but can someone explain this form of self mutilation to me:rolleyes:

Not a great fan of tattoos either:cool:

I had a number of them in my teenage years but gave them up after a while. I had a smiley until last year and I took it out because I was afraid it would affect my gums.

Here is an example of a smiley (this is not me, by the way)

Other than that I have two in my lady bits:

horizontal clitoral hood
triangle piercing (as it is a highly specialised piercing which is potentially dangerous I had to look long and hard to find someone qualified to do it)

Not really my thing either--tats or all the piercings.

I find it odd, but who am I to judge?

I have had a smiley for 2 years now.

I also have a septum. I used to have my lip pierced and I used to have small 6mm tunnels.

I've got tattoos and a tongue-bar.
I love them and so does my boyfriend.

I used to have both earlobes pierced twice, my left ear cartilage, my lip, and tongue pierced. Took 'em all out when I was 20. Have two tattoos. I just liked the way the piercings looked when I was younger. Then I didn't. Not much to explain. lol

Having any form of "tramp stamp" and/or one of those ridiculous stretched-ear piercing things will instantly put you in my friendzone.

Tramp stamp = You're a slut.

Stretched-ear piercing = You follow trends regardless of how fucking stupid they make you look.

So, apart from tramp stamps and stretchers, you're okay with body mod? Is that what you're saying?
What if said tramp stamp was, say, a memorial to family members gone by, or friends that you'd lost? Because the back is the only area big enough to put such a thing.

Edit: Here's my ink and piercing.

Tongue bar.

Triskele: My first ever tattoo. Got it to represent what I've been through in my life, and how I've come out alive. Now, whenever I look at it, it reminds me that no matter which way life decides to throw me, I'll always land on my feet.

Voice of The Otherworld: My most recent tattoo. The nickname that was given to me after I appeared on the Eluveitie album "Everything Remains (As It Never Was)", on the intro track "Otherworld".

Celtic Sun: Second ever tattoo. Probably the only random tattoo that I'll ever get, even if it does represent how part of my family did originate Northern Ireland.

A 'normal' ear piecing is one thing, but those huge gauges that people have are gross. Basically I find any piercings other than on ears gross. Tattoos are ok for some people, like if you go all out with them like Kat Von D, but I don't get why girls get little stars tattooed on their feet or hands...

Yeah tattoos and piercings are fine as long as it's nothing ridiculous.

Also who the hell would get a tramp stamp to remember a deceased relative?

Because not everyone spends their entire waking life criticising and belittling others, and are actually unaware that some judgemental people (mostly bitter men) are calling it a "tramp stamp".

Hey I'm not trying to insult anyone, I'm just saying I wouldn't want a relationship with someone who has a tramp stamp.

If they got it to remember a deceased relative then I guess that would be fine but I've never heard of anyone getting a tattoo on their lower-lower-back/ass for that purpose.

I would. And plan to very soon.
It wouldn't be just one person I'll be remembering.
It'll be all the friends and family that I've lost, even the family members that I never met.

I don't think you quite understand why the majority of people get tattoos. It's not just for the Hell of it, and believe it or not a lot of thought goes into a tattoo. Like I said. The back is the only area of skin that's big enough to have a memorial tattoo. It wouldn't be just names I'll be putting on my back. It'll be a proper tattoo design which I've already worked out and just waiting to get enough money to have done.

I have my earlobes pierced and that's all.

No tats, either:)

However, I don't really care what other people choose to do, even if some of it strikes me as pretty odd.

I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Well, the back would be a good place to get a tattoo. Nice wide empty space :D

I would like to get a tattoo, but I would need to choose something really beautiful. I kind of know what I want... but I just need to find the right kind now.

I've always wanted to get this tattooed somewhere on my body. It's simple with a strong message. What do you all think?
