Man wanted over string of attacks on women
Police have released video of a man wanted for a string of violent assaults on women, including one who was with her baby, in Sydney's southwest.
A 34-year-old woman was pushing her six-month-old child in a pram in parkland near Hill Road, Wentworth Point, when she was grabbed from behind by a man on a bicycle about 10.15am (AEST) on Wednesday.
He indecently assaulted her before riding away.
It follows a similar assault on a 27-year-old woman about 5.05am (AEST) on Sunday, June 17.
She was walking on Northumberland Road when a man grabbed her from behind and indecently assaulted her as she entered Auburn Railway Station.
In another incident about 11.45pm (AEST) on July 28, a 29-year-old woman was walking on Normanby Road, Auburn, when she noticed a man following her.
He grabbed her, held his hand over her mouth and dragged her into bushes where he indecently assaulted her.
Two passers-by chased him away but he attacked another woman, aged 30, about ten minutes later on Harrow Road, Auburn.
She managed to break free and cross over the road but he followed her, grabbed her and again indecently assaulted her.
Detectives on Friday released CCTV footage of the man, described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance and aged in his early 30s with a medium build and short brown hair.
"The nature of these incidents is quite alarming," Detective Inspector Paul Arnold said in a statement.
"I am appealing to anyone who has information about the identity of the man involved, or anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity around the vicinity of these attacks, to come forward."
