Typical Italian face belonging to Western Mediterannean phenotype (not Iberian, though)...

Looks Greek-Italian mix.
Dinaro Atlanto Med.

He's actually not even from Italy but rather from Nice, France.

A lot of people from Nice, like Corsicans, have Italian ancestry though. To me he looks more French than Italian.

Looks Greek-Italian mix.

Gilles Marini is that mix. This guy to me looks French/northern Italian. Judging by his name he'd probably be a French/Italian mix and he looks like a mixture of both.

No.

Corsicans are ethnically Italians and have Italian surnames.
But in Nice, people with Italian names are all descended from immigrants (like G. Garibaldi for instance)... or from Corsicans.

The name "Amalfitano" is obviously from Southern Italy anyway:
http://www.cognomix.it/mappe-dei-cognomi-italiani/AMALFITANO

In France, only 2 Amalfitanos were born in the period 1891 through 1915, but 54 births were registered under this name two generations later (between 1966 and 1990). Clearly an immigrant name.

Amalfitano would be a Campanian surname, since it would mean someone from the Amalfi coast.

In fact that's the other way around.

I think he'd fit in both countries just fine.

Mesrine

Nah, he fits more in southern European countries like Italy or Spain than in France. Believe me.

I don't think he looks all that distinctly Southern European. I would even say he could fit as British. He has a horsy Atlantid look.

^ The average Brit (or Frenchman) obviously doesn't look like that guy.

Well, we'll have to just disagree then.

Well, we'll have to just disagree then.

A guy with no clue (you) will indeed have to disagree with someone who knows (me).

It's an opinion.. opinions can't be right or wrong.

He is not enough CM-influenced to be typical in France.

Dinaro Atlanto Med.

My opinion also.
