Naser Kelmendi: The leader of a Balkan Criminal Empire, as coined by Bosnian authorities. According to a report presented by Interpol, the Kelmendi crime family heads one of the most powerful organized criminal organizations not only in BiH, but in the whole region. The Kelmendi organization has been involved in drug and cigarette trafficking, money laundering and loan sharking.According to the Interpol report, the organization's influence reaches to Montenegro, Kosovo, Republic of Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Germany and the US.[45] Furthermore, according to the CIA Kalmendi leads one of the strongest ethnic Albanian criminal families in the Balkans. Kelmendi’s organization is believed to traffic in cocaine and heroin, as well as acetic anhydride, a basic ingredient in heroin production.[46]

Politicaly, their goal is the EU and NATO membership, but those are commons to all parties, they are pro US. This is the party of Izetbegovic which led Bosnia to independancy.

Economicaly, they are for the development of agriculture, industry of wood, metalurgy, textile, sectors that can be developed since the country has raw ressources. Protection of environnement.

Meh I disagree. Bosnia too would be better off without NATO. Just look at Switzerland. No one has benefited from NATO after the collapse of the Soviet Bloc and I would actually argue that we haven't benefited much since the 1960s either (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Gladio).

Remember that the first danger to Bosnia's Statehood is nationalism of Bosnian Serbs and Serbia that could back them up, Serbia will never accept to join NATO since they are pro Russian and they were striked by NATO in 1999.
So Bosnia would have allies in case of troubles, and at least logistical help.
Anyway, I think that the only result of Bosnia being in NATO would be new military equipements, but Bosnian soldiers would be fighting for US interess.

True but don't be surprised if a couple of "Bosnian Serbs" open fire on people in a supermarket one day after your country joined NATO. Like during the Brabant Massacres (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nijvel_gang) of the 1980s. NATO loves false flag stuff.

The Lawspeaker

Brabant killings were a false flag attack?

Yes. They were mentioned in a BBC documentary about Operation Gladio as part of being that operation.

The massacre of Brabant has also been linked to a conspiracy among the Belgian "stay-behind" network SDRA8 (Gladio) — operating as a secret branch of the Belgian military service — the Belgian Gendarmerie SDRA6 and the US secret service Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
Some high-placed investigators believed—and some still believe—that these crimes were "pre-emptive actions" against the communist threat in Western Europe. These actions were hence linked to Operation Gladio, a large paramilitary network, created and supported by NATO, which was active in many European countries to counter all kinds of communist operations. However, the Belgian parliamentary inquiry into Gladio found no substantive evidence that Gladio was involved in any terrorist acts or that criminal groups had infiltrated the stay-behind network.[1]

Geheimen diensten / Gladio (http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bende_van_Nijvel#Geheimen_diensten_.2F_Gladio)

Actually there is: blame it on the commies and "strengthen" public resolve. It's also not unlikely that the Cellules Communistes Combattantes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Combatant_Cells) were part of that same network.

Ah yeah I understand, applied in Bosnia, that could really create a storm since
it's not an homogenous State.

Exactly. So Bosnia should stay as far away from NATO as possible and even that is not a guarantee.

Well, war weapons from BiH are illegaly exported to Western countries by gangsters and you have now AK's in French Suburbs, so I think there is no need NATO to create a plot since there are still weapons in circulation and males above 40 years old had military training, combine this to corruption and unemployment and you have the perfect conditions to create mess, but it's still remarkable that Bosnia is safer than Marseilles for exemple :D

And how are they socio-economically ? And when it comes to the EU ?

Yup, they come as our version of Christian Democrats (except they fight tooth and nail to keep state owned profitable companies nationalized). They are pro-EU, but want to take slower steps on the "road to ascension" so we could adopt and develop better.

That will change once they enter the EU. You guys have no idea what it is like to be in the EU. For your own sake: keep it that way. Even Austria-Hungary would have been preferable.

In NATO we could have access to the higher tier weapon systems which we don't have the time and resources to develop.

While for EU I would honestly prefer the "special partnership status" like with Norway or Turkey (+EFTA) rather than a full admission. Well I honestly hope that few parties like Geert's one "keep us Muslims and our 6 billion barrels of oil supply (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FttQi333LyM) (in the video they are talking about a small village north of Tuzla and the oil around it, rather than the entire Bosnian oil reserves) out of Europe", that would be ideal.

Look up ECHELON (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECHELON), the countless wars, Operation Gladio etc. and see whether you still want to join.

That might work but in some cases EU regulations would still be forced upon you such as the open border policy (Norway is in Schengen too).

Anyway, I think that the only result of Bosnia being in NATO would be new military equipements, but Bosnian soldiers would be fighting for US interess.

It's not such bad of trade off.

There are over 20K Bosniak mercs across the world fighting for anyone who is willing to pay for them (and the money they reel into Bosnia isn't exactly burned on pyres because it's "blood money"), so that we will be "faced with some great moral dilemma" about fighting for interests of larger nations/corporations isn't even a possibility.

"I don't judge your ambitions, I only judge how much you can pay me" Bosniak lancer companies used to use that as a motto that when they "whored themselves" out to Prussians :)

But who in their sane minds would want to migrate here? Bosnia outside Sarajevo and few other major cities is an uber xenophobic and sadly hateful society.

Does any remember that Somali guy we "saved" and after 9 months of spent in Bosnia (and failing to get further into Europe) of enjoying our high standard of living, our social net, our beautiful and in no way extreme climate, he just asked that we payed for his transportation back to Somalia. :D

But for real all migrants would be pushing for "greener pastures" of Germany, France and Britain rather than stay in our little corner.

That could change within a couple of years. Always think a couple of years ahead: the Eurocrats are doing the same thing.

We all think few years ahead in Bosnia (and that is the source of our problem, everyone looks at these "generational projects" instead of doing anything now) and the situation here sadly isn't going to change because EU will throw some more magical dust (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euros)at the vaguely described "problem" in hopes that it will go away.
