When I first saw him I thought he was Albanian. In some pics he gives off more of a general Balkan look than say Albanian.

Btw in this pic he looks like your typical 90s Albanian (from Albania).

I think he could pass in any Balkan country although Albanian would be first to me.

Really, many Italians look pretty similar to Balkans to me.

Yes, looks very Albanian.

He was born in Lombardy, but the surname is from western Sicily.

In these pics he looks very South Balkan.. could be Greek too.

His eyes are very Sicilian though.

I'd doubt it. I think southern Italians and Balkan people often look pretty alike.

This is true, especially about Apulia, because many pre roman apulian polulations were illirics:

Mannone is Sicilian. My Great Grandfather migrated state side in the 1890 from Marsalla, which is about 40 miles north of Tripani. Vito is clearly a relation, albeit a distant one from my family line. He has all the facial features of a male member of my family except for the eye color. It is actually quite uncanny, given that my blood line had to split off at least five generations ago.

Assuming Vito and I are 4th or 5th cousins, I am not aware of any direct family connection with Albania, beside the pluralistic genealogy of Sicily in general. However, I did have an Uncle that claimed the Family line had a medieval Norman French connection from the Italian Crusades.

He looks more or less Greek to me.

As my Greek friends are always saying "Same face, same race" in reference to Italians, and this is especially true of Southern Italians and Sicilians in particular, given that Sicily was first colonized by the Greeks in antiquity.

That is true at least of the region my family comes from (Messina). But I often find that people in Trapani and Agrigento have a Levantine sort of vibe. Not sure if you'd agree, since many Sicilians find the idea kind of offputting.
