well general Iberian population is swarthy, but of the western type. same like serbs and other balkans are swarthy of the eastern type. the fair Spanish types overlap with the average British Islanders and the dark British Islanders overlap with the average Iberians.

Pretty much the same can be said about many Balkans when compared with Northern and Baltic Slavs.

Of course there are other influences that are exclusive to every region.

Spain has some germanic, levantine and yes, even some berber influences , depending on which regions you look at.

Britain has Norman, Viking and Iberian influence too.

But the core of both populations is a paleolithic component , an atlantic facade which is common as well for Atlantic France, where pigmentation has to do obviously with weather and adaptation.

As a funny note, half the Andalusian kids you see playing in the pueblos, if not more are blonde , and they darken as they grow up
