I like their pseudo-manes, makes em look rather majestic.

Norwegian forest cats...

They are related to Siberian cats and Main Coons. Cats of these two breeds sometimes have long hair like Norwegians forest cats, but not always.

I hope my own Main Coon is heading that way :D

Britain's only remaining wild cat species is the Scottish Wildcat or felis silvestris grampia.

On holiday in Colonsay, in the Outer Hebrides, when I was about nine years old, I did encounter a pregnant wild cat.

Me and my sister made her a bower from the wild sea grass at the back of the cottage we were staying in.

She was not at all friendly, but as we left cat food for her in a bowl near the bower, she rested there, in the shelter that we had made, and had kittens, and we were able to observe her, by keeping our distance.

Cats with these wild markings are known colloquially as 'tabby cats', but this cat was much more robust than an ordinary domesticated tabby cat. She was a big puss.

A wildcat of Iberia, I think they are common European. All them with an "M" on his forehead.

far from my country, but I have one. The Maine Coon, native of Maine, North America.

My Cat, he is still a kitten with five months:

Anecdotally, the maine coon sometimes drink water with the palm of his paw and in winter his hair grows.

While all of my felines have been Short-haired Domestic (i.e., mixed ancestry), my favorites have been those that take on a Maine Coonish phenotype. In additional to having the greatest physical beauty among my cats, I preferred their personalities. Exceptionally affectionate, highly intelligent, easygoing, gentle with people and other cats, yet dominant among other cats.

It would seem difficult to distinguish Maine Coons from the Norwegian Forest Cat (at least as far as physical appearance).

A poster here attempts to make fine distinctions among the Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest, and Siberian in terms of morphology.

Nice. More relatives of the Maine Coon apparently.

The Maine Coon can be very similar to Norwegian forests, especially if the Maine Coon lives in the snow, in cold weather.

Norwegian forests are of longer hair, the Maine Coon has a waterproof hair.

I love the Norwegian cat. They have such unique facial features. The Highland Wildcat is a favorite of mine as well. I got to see some at a reserve last time I was in Scotland and they are majestic.

I'm not much of a cat person, I've always preferred dogs. But if I did own a cat I'd want it to be fold cat. They seem to have the most dog like and playful personalities of cat breeds I've seen.

I girlfriend had a maine coon cat when I was younger and they are cool. They have very stoic personalities. I guess I'm more of a cat person than I think.
