I post Vitorino Nemésio, well known Azorean and father of the so called "Azoreanism". He studied in the University of Coimbra but finished is Romanic Philology PhD degree in the University of Lisbon where he became a teacher of italian language.
He was an intelectual, a poet, writer, novelist, columnist, essayist, biographer, historian of literature and culture, journalist, researcher, epistolographer, philologist and television communicator, in addition to all, the activity of teaching.

Among his books, the most well known is "Mau tempo no canal" (Bad weather in the channel) and as a biographer, maybe his best book is "Isabel de Aragăo, a rainha santa" (Isabella of Aragon, the Saint queen) about one of the most well known and beloved queens of Portugal and with a higly devoted cult in the city of Coimbra where she lived most of her life.
