Lol, no way is this number correct. No point in defending the Soviet Union in this thread, but this whole thing is a myth. It was more like 7%. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Bolshevism#Jewish_involvement_in_Russian_Co mmunism) Anyway, I think the reason many eastern european jews were part of the trade unions and communist movement is that they did more working-class jobs compared to jews in western and central Europe (who were mainly middle-class), plus they were literate and more educated than the average worker. Interestingly, a lot of soviet posters of the Stalin era depict quite "Aryan" looking Russian men and women, over which many in this forum drool :coffee:

On topic, Zinoviev was indeed jewish, and I agree with the classifications above.
