Whew ... I managed to stop the video at 0:07. Maybe I'll be able to make it through the rest of the day without loosing my temper ...

I'm starting to simmer, so I'll leave for a little while. See y'all a little later.

Some small correction. Notice the Usual Suspects' involvement...

UPDATE:
The New York Press reports that a New York City-based director was responsible for the now-infamous Sprite ad, and that the spot was produced without Sprite's permission. The ad is the work of Max Issacson, and was not produced in Germany, according to the NY Press.

The NY Press spoke to John Jones IV, the male model pictured in the video: "The funny thing is, it's a spec commercial--it's not even real," Jones said.

Current TV initially reported that the ad had been banned from the air, for pretty obvious reasons. It combines oral sex and the desire for a refreshing Sprite to create a big finish that has to be seen to be believed. It even beats the climax of this similarly-themed ad.

WATCH: (UPDATE: Original ad was pulled from YouTube due to a copyright claim but you can view below courtesy of Young Turks)

How it was received in Germany?

Not only the context in question, but the commercial was very appealing and vulgar.

Are they desperate to sell Sprite? Multiracial wide publicity to the worst.

Goodness. I hate you. Sprite is the only beverage that I trully enjoy. Now I'll have this image on my mind when I drink it. :grumpy:

:D But it's only a sort of lemonade, isn't it? Surely you can quickly knock up a natural homemade substitute easily enough? God knows what crap the Coca Cola Company put in it - better to wean yourself off it in any case!

No, it's not only a sort of lemonade... It's a carbonated lemon-flavored soft drink whose taste beats the hell out of 7-up! :D

I hate sweet drinks so Sprite Zero is perfect because it is as little sweet as possible...

Christ, they should put you in the adverts, providing Ben Yitzak isn't involved, of course! :D

Why not drink water? Or Tonic? Or is this summat you have to put in your Bohemian Liqueur? :p

I'm never without a bottle of Sprite Zero in the fridge, but I think I feel like throwing bleach in my eyes right now...yuck.

But seriously now, is this a commercial?!

Even if it wasn't interracial, it would still be totally inappropriate in my opinion...

Read my article, people. It was probably just this Jewish ad-man's sick idea of a joke that he wanted to put into reality, barely hoping that the clients would approve. He was making a name for himself, and has succeeded. I shouldn't have repeated his name, come to think of it.

Of course, a few years down the line and this sort of thing may well break onto the mainstream.

I think you people are being a bit too sensitive. Or am I the only one who has ever seen a porn flick with a negro in it..? :icon_redface:

But anyway, that was definitely one of the most RETARD ads I've ever seen - that had been shown in public TV.

But how did it get into air if Sprite hadn't accepted it?

That, and ... aren't commercials intended to promote a product and thus increase sales? I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd never think of buying a Sprite again.

I like Sprite. I'm glad I won't have to boycott it.

I think that sort of thing - interracial sex &/or porn - should be illegal. The woman in the fake commercial has no shame.

Yes, but it isn't an actual Sprite commercial.

If this was real, I'd pay to see their market segmentation notes :loco:...

On a more serious note, in Sprite's shoes I'd sue the heck out of the director. Looks like he staged a sly self-promoting viral marketing campaign to get noticed :rolleyes2:.

It's most likely intentionally made and 'leaked' as part of a viral campaign, they knew it would never get on TV / would be banned, but on the 'net it can take a life of its own and attract many views. This is a more and more popular technique for advertisers, to be as shocking/base and get attention like this.
a famous example is this ad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dzi_8Rscfs), which was also banned, and is kind of funny at least.

The vid may have been taken down but it's been reuploaded many times and there are many 'discussions' about it too. BTW, there was a second one with a white male and white female focusing on the male (who seemed to be having sex with an opening sprite can at the end of the vid) but I can't find it now, and it's the 'black on white' one that's attracting all the views/discussion unsuprisingly.

I kinda like Sprite, but I don't think I can drink it now without associating it with nigger cock. Nein danke

Here was a Becks beer advertisement saying "The beer that said no to prejudice" and showing white girl with black boy couple, holding hands.
I doubt that Sprite one is official, since it would be unmoral and not proper for TV even if the man was white.

It's possibly the worst advert i've ever seen, it even beats that Antony Hopkins advert promoting high definition on Sky....:D

From now I will try to boycott the Coca Cola Company (which produces Sprite) as best I can. "Looks at my last bottle of Coke Zero".
