Whether I'm in 'diet' mode or just enjoying it's subtle flavor, I love to drink Green Tea. I'm partial to the Matcha variety. What about you?

I've had the Jasmin hybrid - it's good, but I have to be in the mood for it as it has a slight perfume-like flavor.

If you end up ordering some, try and get a bamboo whisk specifically used for Matcha.

It really helps in the blending. They can be ordered online or better yet, If you know of a Daiso (Japanese 99 cent store) near you, they're usually even cheaper there.

I like green tea OK, don't love it, but it's a nice thing to sip on before bed. I just drink Lipton or whatever I find in the store.

Not sure of the Caffeine level in 'white'. Green contains some.

I think white has got also some caffeine, but l guess it's lower than the green one since whenever I drink green tea, l cannot sleep early :D

Black , green and white tea are picked from same plant. Only the the preparation is different. Black tea is fermented, green is infused and white tea is just only dried. I don't think the level of caffeine is very different. :)

I love a variety of teas, but Green is my favourite. Earl Grey and white tea follow closely, depending on the mood. But Green tea is a daily habbit. :tongue

Has anyone tried the Ama-ocha green tea? A special woman brought it to me from Canada... She said it was imported from Japan. It is striking because its taste is getting sweeter when it cools off. I've never had a similar experience <3 And I love sweets too... (@ Veneda: and sea food and fish for that matter :P)

I've been getting this from Costco. It's very good, not too pricey and Ito En is a very respected Japanese brand.
For those in the U.S. and Canada belonging to a Costco, I highly recommend it.

Good tea:

Gorreana Green Tea

Both black and green tea is made from the leaves of a plant called the ‘Camellia sinensis’ however it is how the tea leaf is processed that creates the difference.

Although 90% of the tea consumed in the West is black tea, green tea is processed and grown in a variety of ways, and has been a tradition in Portugal since the 1750’s when the Camellia sinensis was discovered growing wild in the Azores Islands off the coast of Portugal.

In the late 1870’s commercial production of tea in the Azores began, for distribution throughout Europe; producing an exquisite line of rare European teas admired by heads of state to houses of European and Japanese royalty dating back to the early 19thcentury.

After plucking the delicate leaves are sorted and cleaned and are either steamed or fried depending on the green tea then undergo the drying phase on delicate trays with the fresh ocean air adding a unique fragrant scent to the precious leaves.

A staple in European pantries for over a century, the unique green teas produced by 5thgeneration owners of the Gorreana Tea Estate are still produced using the ancient techniques that have been passed down by tea experts from Macau over 130 year earlier.

Although ornamental gardens have come and gone throughout European history, the only place where tea has been able to cultivate and has been produced and sold 100% SINGLE ESTATE for over a century is here at Gorreana; the pioneers of the European art of green tea since 1883.

Green tea is really good, but it has to be prepared properly. It's a lot easier to screw up green tea than black tea.

It's still my favorite type of tea, though.
I recently got some loose leaf green teas that are pretty good, but I can never seem to make it as good as the Asian restaurants in town do.
