Minister dismisses 'halal homes' fears

Home affairs minister Ronald Plasterk told a television programme on Sunday he has no problem with housing corporations renovating homes and taking the wishes of Muslim tenants into account.

Plasterk was responding to a report in Parool newspaper on Saturday which said 188 apartments in western Amsterdam had been adapted to meet the wishes of Muslims, with a special cupboard for storing shoes and an extra tap for 'ritual cleansing'.

Me neither. I am wondering if these absurd islamic stories from Europe are real or invented to manipulate people`s minds.

I actually think they should be built as the new model apartment but only for Dutch themselves (because those halal homes would have been much bigger than what the average Dutchman gets) but with only a few modifications:

Slaapkamer 1 and 2 should become one bedroom.
Slaapkamer 5 should become the study.
On the side of the kitchen and living room (keuken en huiskamer) a balcony should be added. If living on the ground floor this is where the garden will be.

Doors are to be replaced with sliding doors. And when the population density begins to drop each family should be allotted two floors which can be be changed in accordance to the wishes of the owner and his/her family.
