Estive a rever isto. Já não via "O lugar do morto" há uns 15 anos...
Vivíamos num país muito diferente.
Muito se fumava;
Fumava-se "Português Suave" sem filtro como quem respira;
Cigarros que se acendiam com carteira de fósforos;
Matrículas pretas;
Telefones de discar;
Um parque automóvel decrépito;
Telegramas;
Aquelas fardas da polícia.. santos deus..

A história é ao mesmo tempo enigmática e simplória mas é um bom documento histórico.
Os actores principais a Ana Zanatti (Ana Mónica) era uma cara conhecida da TV e deixou de aparecer em público. O Pedro Oliveira (Álvaro Serpa) era jornalista da RTP na vida real e desapareceu dos média depois de lhe ter sido diagnosticada ezquizofrenia. Não voltei a vê-lo nem encontrei uma única foto ou notícia actualizada dele.

Na minha cidade temos o mosteiro de santa Iria que também está ao abandono.
Esta santa Iria é aquela "supermodelo" goda que foi assassinada em 20 de Outubro de 651 e cujo martírio originou a mudança do nome de Scalabis para Sant' Irene (Santarém). O lugar onde existia o convento pré-românico em que ela vivia é hoje ocupado por um mosteiro do Sec XV no centro da cidade e à beira do rio. Está abandonado porque o foi comprado pelo município que agora não tem dinheiro para o requalificar.

No dia 17 de Fevereiro de 2013, na 11ª Rota do projeto "Na Rota das Fajãs", descobrimos a Fajã da Ribeira D`Areia onde se realizou-se um almoço convívio e tivemos "À convesa com": o Sr. António Almada (A Fajã da Ribeira D`Areia) e Sr. Clímaco Ferreira da Cunha (Fajãs: passado, presente e futuro).

A Aventour criou este projeto, com a finalidade de dar a conhecer a todos os participantes ao longo dos próximos dois anos, as 75 fajãs da ilha de São Jorge no arquipélago dos Açores.

Pretendemos também, promover junto da comunidade local a prática da atividade física e o desporto de Natureza, divulgando assim a ilha onde estamos inseridos, na descoberta de um dos maiores "tesouros" que temos: as nossas fajãs.

La Cage Dorée (A Gaiola Dourada)

Um português emigrante noutro país da Europa acaba por ter sempre esta aurea de labrego e de atrasado ou coisa parecida, não aconteceu só connosco mas com todos os povos do sul que nos anos 50, 60 e 70 tiveram que procurar trabalho e bem-estar sobretudo nas terras da França e da Suiça. Na França em particular, apesar do reconhecimento de uma comunidade integrada, participativa e trabalhadora criou em paralelo um cliché de um povo pouco informado e pouco formado. Nos tempos actuais a verdade é outra radicalmente diferente, os novos emigrantes acabam por ser, em média, mais bem formados que os próprios Franceses, de facto eles são uma boa fracção da sociedade que, apesar de tudo, conseguimos criar na última década que, se em termos económicos foi uma mentira, em termos sociais traduziu-se num passo de gigante que nos colocou a par das sociedades mais desenvolvidas.. com um pouquinho mais de rendimentos saltaríamos dos 30 primeiros para a nata dos 20 primeiros com facilidade.
Eu vejo este filme como um assumir descomplexado dos clichés e estereotipos criados pelos Franceses e isso é muito saudável. Quando um povo sabe rir e fazer piadas com as suas próprias fraquezas e ridicularias só pode estar no bom caminho e gostar muito de quem é. Por isso estou desejoso de poder ver no cinema. Muitos parabéns ao realizador Rúben Alves.

What if your name was your destiny? And what if that name foretold a tragic end?

It is 1898 in the Azores, nine forgotten islands of magic, mystery and mythology. Since birth, Azorean Eva Maré has been fated to take on the name and tragic life of Arethusa, a Greek nymph who is turned to water after the river god Alpheus falls in love with her.

But when she accepts her new name she learns at once that the river god she is to give herself to is none other than Diogo, the son of a rich ship owner, and his obsession for Eva is frightening.

When Eva is rescued by Tristan, an Azorean orphan, she finds herself drawn to him despite the overwhelming obstacles between them. But Tristan has a destiny of his own, one that leads him toward another girl, another life, and another tragic end.

Will Eva reach Tristan before he loses his life to a cruel twist of fate? Will Tristan save Eva from a fate worse than death at the hand of Diogo? Destined to be with Diogo yet hoping against hope that she will win Tristan’s love, Eva must somehow choose between them, or fate will choose for her.

Artemis Rising was a 10-year labor of love inspired by a magical stay on Terceira Island in the Portuguese Azores Islands. My unfailing love for these islands and the Azorean people was the catalyst that brought this complex story of fate and belief to life.

Eva (Arethusa) Maré
Eva Maré’s life is a study in contradictions. She is a first-generation Azorean-American growing up in New Bedford, Massachusetts in the 1890s. Yet her family origins are deeply rooted in Terceira Island in the Azores Archipelago, Portugal. She has grown up in a divided household: her mother is a pagan worshipper of the Moon Goddess Artemis and her father is a devout Catholic. Eva must choose, once and for all, which faith she will follow, but each choice carries severe consequences.

She shook her head, and then fell into him. Pressing her face into his shoulder, she felt his arms come around her. She had never felt safer, never in the arms of Pai, her true mother, or even her beloved sea. Was she not made for this place, this soft space inside the circle of Tristan’s arms?

Tristão (Tristan) Vazante

Tristão Vazante grew up in an orphanage in Angra do Heroísmo, abandoned by his father and grieving for the loss of the mother he never knew. He never takes life for granted, and always looks for the good in people.

Hope is the flame that lights his way. The morning after a terrible storm, he finds a girl half-dead on the shore. Tristão becomes her protector but when he discovers Eva’s a pagan, he questions his love for her.

The development of each character in this story is truly gripping, but Tristan’s stands apart from the rest. Readers will be moved by his fall from grace, his journey of redemption, and his selflessness. We see the innocent orphan become the cowardly bigot, and finally the courageous protector. The conflicts that he deals with are epic trials of faith and devotion: faith to Catholicism, and devotion to a doomed pagan. He knowingly fulfills the role of Tristan from the Arthurian legend, accepting the probability that his love for Arethusa can only last in death.

After he had finished bandaging her feet, he glanced up, searching her face.

“Something happened to you tonight. You are shaking.” He brushed a strand of damp hair from her forehead, and she almost shied away. The gesture seemed too intimate somehow. Perhaps it was because it meant too much to her and nothing to him. “I know you don’t want to talk about it, but maybe tomorrow you’ll change your mind. Get some sleep. Don’t let the condeza or Pai see your bandages. They’ll hound you until they know everything.”

As he walked away, Arethusa caught his arm. “Thank you,” she mouthed to him, and reaching up with two fingers, she touched his temple and then her own. To her it meant I love you, but to Tristan . . . she never knew what it meant to him.

Tristan gave her a sad smile, and then he was gone.

Diogo Cheia

Diogo Cheia’s father is a marquez and soon he will be too. He always gets what he wants. Always. On the sailing to Terceira Island, he finds a new plaything to pass the time: Eva. He also discovers her secret, and knows just how to play the game to his advantage.

“Please let me go, Diogo.” She didn’t know what to do. He was too strong, and he blocked the only exit.

“Too late,” he said in mock apology, pulling at the buttons on her high neckline.

She turned away, revolted. “Diogo, I won’t do this with you. Not now . . . not ever.” For an instant, she glimpsed the weight of her rejection through his down-turned head and the clench of his jaw.

He raised his head at last, and a wounded rage fired his eyes. “I will say it again: too late . . .”
