I found this to be interesting- a modern Zoroastrian gives his own version of the story of the world's first great teacher of a monotheistic doctrine. The meditations that Zoroaster had are contained within the Gathas, which are a collection of hyms/songs to God (Ahura Mazda). Linguistic analysis of the language in the Gathas reveals that they are quite old, at least as old as the oldest portions of the Hindu Vedas (1500 bce or so). The commentator seems to imply that Zoroaster's [monotheistic] doctrine was in reaction to the [polytheistic] doctrine of Vedic Hindusm.
