Sezen Aksu's voice is amazing, none of the rest compares.

Defenately this version.

I think this song belongs to Greek people originally -if I am not mistaken- if you like you can also post of the original version of it in Greek.

A song doesn't ''belong'' to anyone. Yes, the original version of it, is Greek, sung by Haris Alexiou. (Amazing voice , too). I think she is pretty famous to Turkey as well.

The lyrics in Turkish & English:

Herşeyi yak (Burn eveyrthing)

Beni yak, kendini yak, herşeyi yak
Burn me,burn yourself,burn everything
Bir kıvılcım yeter ben, hazırım bak
A spark is enough,look i'm ready
İster öp okşa, istersen öldür
if you want, touch & kiss, kill if you want
Aşk için ölmeli aşk o zaman aşk
it is died for love! then, the love is real.

Seni içime çektim bir nefeste
i have taken you as a breath
Yüreğim tutuklu, göğsüm kafeste
my breast is imprisoned,my chest is in cage
Yanacağız ikimizde ateşte
We'll burn together in hell
Bir kıvılcım yeter hazırım bak
A spark is enough,look i'm ready
Aşk için ölmeli aşk o zaman aşk
it is died for love! then, the love is real.

Allahım allahım! Ateşlere yürüyorum
My god,my god ! I'm walking through the fires
Allahım acı ile, aşk ile büyüyorum
My god, with pain,i grow up with love

Beni yor, hasretinle , sevginle yor
Make me tired with your yearning, with your love
Sevgisizlik ayrılıktan daha zor
Not being loved is worse than seperation
Dilediğin kadar acıt canımı
Hurt me how you want
Varlığında, yokluğunda yetmiyor
Your exist and absence are not enough

Here is our lyrics and translation

Translation:

If your ground was expedient
I would make you a dance floor made of phosphor
with twelve corridors
twelve terrors
with portable plugs and intensities
with stubbornesses and hijackers

If your embrace was an oasis
I would bring you mini disks for listening
at the swing of the sand
my heart is a drop
and my thirsting soul is an army
and on her my life's eagle

Dreams-dreams
my distant flames
dreams of my escape
and my unknown voices

You may sleep and I will dream
like a quiet god I will emanate
from your white snow
without sheet
at the claws of the vilan this night
and death is sorry to hide.

Yes, It doesn't make sense

I think our Turkish version's English translation doesn't make any sense either, for example "Burn yourself, burn myself" it sounds really nonsense in English but in Turkish it's different

Anyway I voted for all the options since I kind of like this song a lot :D

Duman! :thumbs

But to be honest Sezen Aksu is the best singer of the lot, I just ain't particularly fond of the genre :)

Its generally that way.
The poetic lyrics make sense in Greek, with the parallelizations and stuff, but none in English.

I go with no 1 because I am totally in love with Sevval Sam and Eleftheria sounds like a Seirēn, who can resist that?

What do you think about Duman's version, option 04? I think they did their very own version of it, and it kind of sounds also interesting, same music, same lyrics but in a way it's got its own "type of flavour".

Btw all versions sound too contemporary, I am looking for "original" version but I can't find any. Please post them here.

Seriously I won't change my vote because I really like how it sounds in Greek, honira honira (I don't even know what it means). I just want to know who wrote the song.

They are all good, although I preferred the first two more. They sound more traditional... ;)

It's true indeed, the first 2 are rather more tradition :D I asked my mom as well, she said just Sezen did it well, basically number 2 :D
