Shhhhhhhhhh but i have a gift in mind to give Mrs Germanicus for her forthcoming birthday.
Mrs G is half Scottish so i like the Thistle design, but i also like the classic viking wolfhead, which one should i get?

Oooo they're both lovely Germanicus. :) I would go for the thistle one myself, it's more feminine and also perhaps a bit more meaningful with respect to Mrs. Germanicus' cultural heritage.

Thems my 2 cents as a woman though my good man. ;) Ultimately you know her best. :)

Hmm I'm not going to help I prefer the wolf, it looks better done than the thistle.!

Depends on her personality I guess. I would say the thistle torc since it's more feminine and evokes a less of a warrior-chieftain feeling that would be better suited for young boys and older men..

So yes, I would agree with the thistle torc. :thumb001:

I like the look of the Viking one better but maybe it's my genes talking ;).

I would choose the model with wolf heads, but it depends on your wife's style and taste.

Aww how lovely, both are! :thumbs

I would choose the thistle for myself but that's because I don't wear jewelry and when I do, they tend to be very subtle.

Thank you mam, i am leaning towards the thistle, but they are both splendid.

Mrs Germanicus's family lives in Alloa, near Stirling castle, since i had never been to that part of Scotland when we went up there she gave me the Grand Tour, we visited the Wallace memorial which gave a marvellous view of the area.
The hill is stands on was an iron age hill fort, overlooking the hill is the famous castle.
Surrounding the whole area is the wealth of Scotland, (whisky sheds)
One of her cousins showed us a silver bracelet, it was an 8mm thick solid siver with bronze dragon heads at each end, he explained he had found it years ago whilst up in the hills during a thunder storm.
He took it for valueing and to find out its age, and was told it is unique because origionally the dragons heads were gold, but had been replaced with bronze, perhaps the gold was used for the taxation they had to pay in those days, but with the bronze heads it still looks impressive. Because it is the only one of it's kind ever found like this they cannot put a value on it as unique.

Off topic: Ahh Stirling Castle! It reminds me....I own a pitcher that belonged to my English grandma. It says "Stirling Castle Old Scotch Whiskey" on it and apparently came from England. It's quite pretty, made of china by The Foley China Company it seems. It sits in my living room bookcase as a memory of my grandmother. :)

Do you recognise this brand of Scotch whiskey at all Germanicus. Is there a whiskey shop other there by Stirling Castle then?

Pip, pip mate! ;)

There is lots of places where you can buy gift Whisky around the castle area, as it is the capital city of whisky processing area.

Is she afraid of heights? If not, how about a balloon ride?

This one's over Chepstow, not far from you Germanicus.

True, Chepstows just down the road but.........2 things Mrs G would not like, to be in the air without a jet engine, and on a moving vessel on the water.:(:(

Or an electric extension lead so she can use the electric mower when i am not around, as she knows i do not let her touch anything that is hard to start such as my petrol mower...bless her.:D

Ahh and now we need not wonder why she is an "ex". :P

That was some message you sent that woman Vargey, "Here's an ironing board but you won't need it around me because I don't wear shirts." :D
