The Happy Land Fire

The Happy Land was a social club in New York that was burned on 25 March 1990 by an arsonist who was angry with his former girlfriend for rejecting him. 87 people were killed, and the murder weapon was a container of gasoline, along with the matches to light it.

Graham's mother, Daisie King, a passenger on Flight 629, was traveling to Alaska to visit her daughter. It was believed that Graham's motive for the bombing was to claim $37,500 worth of life insurance money from policies Graham had purchased in the airport terminal just before the aircraft's departure. (Flight insurance could be routinely purchased in vending machines at airports into the 1980s).

At least 15 people were injured, many of them stabbed, at a northwest Harris County college on Tuesday, according to paramedics. Investigators said they're searching for one of two suspects.

Cy-Fair volunteer firefighters said they were called out to a stabbing at Lone Star College, 9191 Barker Cypress Road, about 11:20 a.m. College officials said the incident happened at the health sciences building.

LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) — A nurse died and four people were injured Tuesday in a stabbing attack at an East Texas medical complex.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder in the stabbings, which happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Ambulatory Surgical Center of Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
