So this is a summary of my entire family, and the different sections of it, that i made using the aid of Eurogenes (specifically Jtest) and also with the use of a Euclidean Distance macro for Jtest made by Day Tripper on ABF, and also a visual graphic crafted by Day Tripper showing my IBD matches with various populations within the project.

I created this thread in order to give some idea of what you can do regarding your own ancestry with these tools, and also on the off-chance that someone might be interested - So i thought i might as well share it and not keep it just to my family, as others might find it useful.

I'd like to do the same with Dodecad too, when i can make Euclidean Distance macros that is. :)

Kudos to Polako on his project, and many thanks to Day Tripper for happening to create a couple of very useful additions!

Hope a few will find it useful/interesting/informative in some way. Merry Christmas!

Figure 1 shows family closeness to populations using the Jtest.
Dad&Granddad column is an average of my father and grandfather's data, and my father's paternal phased data file.
Dad's family is the above, but also includes my grandmother's data and my father's maternal phased data file.
Mum's family is my mother's data and her sister's data.
Whole family is all of the above.
My results is just my own.

Edit: The lower the number the closer the match, as the number after the @ sign is the distance to that population.

Figure 2 is an IBD map showing my matches with other people in the Eurogenes project. There are 6 frames, they go from left to right in order of size (smallest in top left, largest in bottom right). Apparently the smaller segments are likely more ancient, and larger ones (in later frames) more recent. It correlates with Figure 1 relatively well.

I'll leave the explanation/analysis for tommorow or so, as it is far too early/late to write about that now.

Merry Christmas everybody!:thumb001:
