Well I like coffee, Im pretty much as Hardcore as you get when it comes to coffee. Just wondering if there's anyone else that cares about coffee, or like to know a bit about it. I know this is a European Preservation forum, and I should wander my ass over to Coffeesnobs board, nevertheless I thought it was relevant that we should have a coffee thread, for anything coffee thread related.

I've been in the industry for a year now, and have visited farms in Australia, and judged some cafes. oh and here's my system

Currently going through a custom blend, where the coffee was sourced from 3 microlot farms in Costa rica, Ethipoia, and Guatemala. :)

I've really not been a one for coffee much, i like a milky instant coffee now and again but i could go without drinking one for years, but offer me an Earl grey cuppa, now that's different..:)

I love coffee and require coffee to function properly.
I prefer a dark French roast, source is not that important to me.

I have a fairly descent espresso machine but a crappy grinder.
The espresso machine remains forgotten, under the cupboard.

My current setup is a French coffee press. It is very basic and I like it simple. :D
I grind the beans, boil the water, infuse the grinds in the press with boiling water, then wait 5 minutes and press then pour.

BTW, the best coffee's that I have personally ever tried were the various Hawaiian coffee's, while I was on vacation there.
They are super expensive and I would not be able to afford to drink them the way I do the cheaper stuff.

I like coffee. Cafe mocha used to be a favourite of mine.

I love coffee and I love the history of coffee. It was discovered in Ethiopia when a goatherder noticed his goats chewing coffee beans and hopping about excitedly. It is known as the Arabic Wine (al-Kahwa). Unfortunately, my last coffee machine broke, so I am stuck with Folger's Instant. :( I like to try different coffees: Arabic, Turkish, Ethiopian, Colombian etc.

There is nothing better than a caffeine euphoria coupled with a good book. One of my favourite pastimes is getting juiced and reading history books and Italian grammars. :D

I love a good coffee. Caffeine tolerance/addiction is a bit of a bitch, though. However, detox from addiction only takes around 3 - 5 days then you're clear ... if you can stand the severe headaches from withdrawal that can last for days. But well worth it, then you can again enjoy the occasional caffeine kick that actually works.

Yes some of the Moka coffee is quite interesting. I have tried plenty of Ethiopian in my time. However I think the Rwandan coffee has more going for it.

My favorites so far have been Guatemalan Zoranda, and the Bolivian San ignacio II.

This thread will serve as the official coffee thread of The Apricity.

Here you are able to express the feelings you hold for the beverage; you can share the experiences you've had and plan to have, and post pictures on the cups drunk.

All types, cappuccino to black coffee, milk and not milk, but sugar is a must...or else blehh.

I make my own cappuccino just with plain coffee (nescafe), just shake the milk carton well, shake the jar of coffee, add the coffee and sugar, pour the milk and voila! Straight into the fucking microwave.

You got a cappuccino ala Malte' :D

I wish to try it myself one day.

If I drink coffee it's for the caffeine, not for the ritual or enjoyment. Never cared for it much but when I do drink it, I prefer it through a Chemex or French Press. Actually, I do like Cuban style coffee and for the boutique places, Starbucks, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Peet's are all pretty consistent.

Yes something like that. Basically what you must do is when it starts to boil you put džezva away and let it cool and put back on fire for re-boil. This is do usually three times and very quikly. :)

I don't know European style Turkish coffee and if our Turkish coffee tastes light compared with it or not ,I guess it depends how you make it..If you make your coffee on coal fire or very low fire ,it you take coffee beans ,roast them and grind it with hand mill ,share the foam equally, taste with sugar harmoniously ,heat the cofee mugs your coffee tastes better..A big ritual and needs skill .Especialy if your guests prefer their coffee in different tastes (low sugar ,medium or sweet ) it becomes a real challenge to serve it without killing the foam..

Well I am working as computer programmer now so 2 coffees per day are not that much.
I have other friends who are programmers and they are drinking even 4 or so.
You need a lot of blood flow to your brain and coffee really helps.
I can see very fast if a coffee is good or not after the increasing or not of the blood flow to the brain (you can feel the veins from the head becoming dilated).

It depends. I drink too much coffee, so I try not to do it always in the same way. Depending on the moment, the place and how many I've drunk that day, I'll drink it black, with a bit of milk, with brandy or with ice. :)

I love it. Most people hate it. The really cheap coffees here have chicory added because it's cheaper and the poorer population can afford it. I like the cheapest coffee because it has the highest percentage of chicory.
