I've always thought the Black Eyed Leucistic Ball Python looked pretty cool (one of the rarest snakes in the world)

Also the Anaconda is pretty badass.

I've always been impressed by it's sheer size and power

Here's some info on the snakes:

The Black Eyed Leucistic is the homozygous form of the Fire Ball. It is a bright, pied white snake with jet black eyes and bright red pupils. The scales are fine and smooth and there is a really nice aqua blue color above each eye on top of the head. There have only been a few Black Eyed Leucistics produced in the world.

sure, many animals are interesting.

But what is up with people who keep this animals as pets? Why they do that? :noidea:
Maybe because they have too much money, and want to spend it by buying money for a animal, that would kill them at the first chance it gets.

and my favourite snakes are the ones that cannot kill me :coffee:

Yes. The "boomslang". These things are fucking dangerous. And very quick. They can stand up to 6ft tall and chase you in that position.

The Adder. The sorts that you can find in Britain.

I've been lucky enough to meet an Adder twice in my life so far, which i count as very good as they are very low on numbers i believe. The last time me and my dad were out for a walk, and we had a stare-off with this adder for about 30 seconds before it gave up and retreated back into the grass, was very interesting.

One of the most beautiful ...

Coral snake showing typically reclusive behavior of hiding under rotting wood. This one was over 30 inches (76 cm) long, but less than an inch (2.5 cm) across.Coral snakes have a tendency to hold on to a victim when biting, unlike vipers which have retractable fangs and tend to prefer to strike and let go immediately.

http://i.imgur.com/8APHa.jpg

Coral snakes are not aggressive or prone to biting and account for less than one percent of the number of snake bites each year in the United States. When confronted by humans, coral snakes will almost always attempt to flee, and bite only as a last resort. In addition, coral snakes have short fangs (proteroglyph dentition) that cannot penetrate thick leather clothing. Any skin penetration however, is a medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

http://i.imgur.com/OxbY7.jpg

Coral snakes have a powerful neurotoxin that paralyzes the breathing muscles; mechanical or artificial respiration, along with large doses of antivenom, are often required to save a victim's life.
The bite of a coral snake may soon be more dangerous, in part because bites are so uncommon. Production of coral snake antivenom in the United States has ceased because it is not profitable.

Um... :shy: ... I'm not keen on snakes tbh... but if I had to choose :icon1: it would have to be a benign one which doesn't have a grotty temperament ... and preferably a small and dinky one, providing it's not dangerous.

Ilha de Queimada Grande, better known as ‘Snake Island,’ is a tiny pocket of land off the coast of Brazil.

The tiny island is home to 4000 Golden Lancehead Vipers, one of the deadliest snakes in the world.

The island is considered the most dangerous acreage on the planet.

Humans are banned from visiting unless given special clearance.

Australian reporter Tara Brown journeys to the island with Australian molecular biologist and self-confessed snake geek, Bryan Fry as part of a research project studying the potential medical benefits of the snakes’ venom.

First one because of the coloration, second one because of the spiny appearance.
