I think Bosnians give too little credit to the middle eastern mujahedin that saved them!

Bosnian mujahideen (Bosnian: Bosanski mudžahedini) were foreign Muslim volunteers who fought on the side of Bosniaks during the 1992–1995 Bosnian war. They arrived in Bosnia with the aim of fighting for Islam and on behalf of Muslims.[1]

Al Qaeda are known to have played an important role in the 'Bosnian Jihad' from its early stages. Following the withdrawal of Russian forces from Afghanistan thousands of foreign Islamic fighters sought a new front on which to wage Jihad. They found it in Bosnia, a conflict they perceived as a battle between Islam and Christianity.

The foreign mujahideen actively recruited young local men, offering them military training, uniforms and weapons. As a result, some local Bosniaks joined the foreign mujahideen and in the process became local mujahideen. They imitated the foreigners in both the way they dressed and behaved, to such an extent that it was sometimes, according to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) documentation in subsequent war crimes trials, "difficult to distinguish between the two groups". For that reason, the ICTY has used the term "Mujahideen" (which they spell Mujahedin) to designate foreigners from Arab countries, but also local Muslims (i.e. Bosniaks) who joined the mujahideen units.

The Mujahideen came from Iran, Afghanistan and other Islamic countries to fight alongside the Muslim-dominated Bosnian Government army during the war.

They have settled in villages around the town of Maglaj, where they have been living illegally in Serb-owned houses.

Under the Dayton peace accord that ended the Bosnian war, all foreign fighters were supposed to leave the country by 1996. But many of them now have Bosnian citizenship and have married Bosnian Muslim women.

Until now, the local authorities and the international community had tended to turn a blind eye, but now the Serbs, who were forced to flee during the war, want to reclaim their old homes.

^ That story is from 2000. It's 2013. There's likely less than 50 of them actually still residing in Bosnia but it's impossible to know statistically.

All the while, our despicable traitor government cowered in its boots and refused to open a new northern front by any means necessary, retaking the Vajdaság and relieving the pressure on Bosnia and Croatia.

Ah well. Next time...

Here is a documentary about Greek mujaheddins who planted Greek flag in Srebrenica during the big massacre. These people has been recruited by the Greek church and sent to Bosnia to kill muslims;

And Bosnians keep that intact and allow these people to praise the orthodox mujaheddins in Bosnia?!!!

No one tried to destroy these monuments yet? How come you allow them to praise the murderers who killed your people in your homeland?

Like KLA and other Albanian paramilitaries can't be linked with AL-Qaida. :rolleyes:

War in Bosnia was a war in real sense of the word, with frontlines and large scale operations. It allowed foreign volunteers to actively participate and create their own units on all sides.

In Kosovo, however, Serbian army and police occasionally conducted only anti-guerrilla operations, even during the NATO bombing with only Battle of Kosare being close to a real battle. Therefore, number of volunteers who could reach KLA forces was very limited.

But, sending soldiers is not the only way of supporting one's war efforts.

Either people don't know about it, or people don't feel vandalising a war memorial will do much except maybe release some built up anger.

Those are in Republika Srpska where Bosniaks almost don't exist anymore and where BiH has sovereignty only on paper...They have no money to build their future, but have to glorify their thirst of blood.
