Software developer Crytek opens Istanbul office

Sabah – Gaming software company Crytek, famous for its CryEngine technology used in popular titles such as Crysis and FarCry, opened a development studio in Istanbul to better serve the growing digital entertainment markets of the country and the Middle East and North Africa regions.

“Crytek Istanbul’s opening will enable the company further grow in a country a with great potential and expand into new markets.”, Crytek CEO, Cevat Yerli said at the launch ceremony, also attended by Turkey’s Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, Nihat Ergün. The company plans to invest EUR 20 million in its Istanbul studio, creating 150 high skill jobs over the next 5 years.

Founded in Germany by three Turkish brothers in 1999, Crytek has development studios in 8 countries, creating award-winning gaming titles for various gaming platforms.

just because the 3 main heads are turkish doesnt mean anything. Cryteks majority workers are german and there work also many russians and genral eastern europeans. Thats why they opened up so many subsoderies in eastern europe including kiev because thats where people can program games in europe.

yeah but whos programming it all? All turks? Just because the 3 had money. Its obvious crytek made their first studios in eatsern europe like bulgaria, ukraine and later in south korea, china and london, and only now in turkey. Just shows you how much confidence they had in their people.
