Could be. Whats about the possibility that he is a result of Native Polynesian and ancient Turanid mix, since in this areas there are light complexed people who are reffered as the children of the sea/heaven-god "Tangaroa" (compare with Altaic "Tengere, Tangara, Tengri etc.")?
