French court orders Twitter to identify racist and anti-Semitic users

Company could face fines of over $1,300 per day if it doesn't comply.

For months now, the French-language twittersphere has lit up with a rash of racist, homophobic, and anti-Semitic tweets using the hashtags #UnBonJuif (a good Jew), #SiMonFilsEstGay (if my son is gay), and #SiMaFilleRamèneUnNoir (if my daughter brings home a black guy).

Last fall, under pressure from French advocacy group Union of Jewish Students (UEJF), Twitter agreed (http://www.english.rfi.fr/americas/20121019-twitter-agrees-block-anti-semitic-tweets-french) to remove some offensive tweets. In October 2012, at Berlin’s request, Twitter also suspended (http://www.dw.de/twitter-blocks-german-neo-nazi-account/a-16313384) a German neo-Nazi account based in the city of Hanover, the first time the company had responded to such a government request.

Ironic, isn't it? Jews viciously attack and oppress those who they consider "antisemitic," the whole time failing to realize that what they're doing is precisely the type of thing that creates antisemitism in the first place.

Antisemitism is a disease. You catch it from Jews.

French court orders Twitter to give details of racist tweeters

A French court has told Twitter that it must provide anti-racist groups with information about the authors of racist tweets. The microblogging site had appealed against an earlier order to do so.

The Paris appeal court ordered Twitter to provide information about "racist or anti-Semitic" tweets to a Jewish students' group (http://uejf.org/) and four anti-racist campaigns, backing up a lower court's decision in January.
