Swedish+Sámi?

An interesting observation. I've heard this before from a latin american immigrant, lol

Well, geographically speaking you're not completely off for one branch of my family, but neither DNA testing nor church records show any sign of saami admixture within the past few centuries.

By the way, what is it about my appearance that gives me a saami vibe? I do suppose the eyes make me look at least pseudo-lappid, but is there more?

The Lappoid is strong on you. Ladogan + Nordoid.

It was just guess and I was certain I'd hit jackpot... but seems I was wrong:)

How about Finnish+Swedish?

Intresting phenotype. Not that uncommon in Northern Sweden.

Good to hear, my fellow somewhat mongoloid-looking scandinavian :D

So no specific part then? Just the overall appearance? :)

How about Finnish+Swedish?

Nope, still not right. I'm a mix of geographical extremes within modern day sweden. Mainly from Norrland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norrland), though (hence the part-saami classification wasn't entirely geographically unplausible). Almost half of my ancestors were from coastal areas of modern day Götaland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6taland)

Norrland and Skåne?

Not entirely, but partially yes. Northern Norrland, SW Skåne and (even more recently and to a greater extent) eastern Blekinge

I'm quite phenotypically mixed, with at least nordid, borreby and baltoid phenotypes among my regionally unmixed ancestors. The mixed part of the family tend to look quite odd, with many common features put together into one rather strange mix. I feel like a scandinavian version of latin american tri-racials :laugh2:

There seems to be consensus about my lappoid phenotype. :)

However, I wonder if there are parts of it that are visibly non-lappoid

The Lappoid dominates very heavily in your look.

Not predominantly lappid, influenced by at max. Lappids have short and wide faces, and less soft characteristics (except the women).

This picture captures essential lappid characteristic pretty well

mix Cromagnid + Lappoid. This look specific Scandinavian, you will not see it from the Finno-Ugric peoples in Russia

Definitely not pred. Lappoid. Have you people never seen what a Lappid is supposed to look like?

He is obviously not a Mongoloid, I doubt he have East Eurasian admixture in any significant percentage.

If you were Latin American, you would be seen as a mestizo. I would classify you as extreme Uralic. That's how people imagine Finns to look like, but few do...

Yes, and I do think it's a reasonable guess. These very predominantly european looking Saami do have eye shapes that are somewhat similar to yours and mine, yet I don't think they look like pure Lappids:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d7/3NorwSamiPresidents.jpg

Here are some of my regionally unmixed and oddly somewhat lappoid-eyed ancestors from the southern coast of Sweden:

http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y392/Scandob/foumlrf3_zpsb53a5b06.png

My northern ancestors seem to be more north atlantid, nordid and strandid, and I doubt there's any saami/mongoloid origin. The phenotypes of my southern ancestors is something of a mystery to me.

Moderate "Lappoids" naturally exist in South Scandinavia too, just that they are much more common in the North as they are a heavily borealised (rather than Mongolid proper) European stock.

Your great palpebral slant could be due to mere individual variation.
