WASHINGTON (CNN) world's population is forecast to hit 7 billion next year, the vast majority of its growth coming in developing and, in many cases, the poorest nations, a report released Wednesday say.

A staggering 97 percent of global growth over the next 40 years will happen in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the Population Reference Bureau's 2009 World Population Data Sheet.

"The great bulk of today's 1.2 billion youth -- nearly 90 percent -- are in developing countries," said Carl Haub, a co-author of the report. Eight in 10 of those youth live in Africa and Asia.

If only they would stay in their own lands. Then they would have to learn about birth control or deal with the consequences.

So sad yes and it is the reason why we have to preserve what we are and our nordic and european traits!! We must be the shining white spot in a black , swarthy and dark world.

:)Famine & pestilence would do the trick, if only the West would not send aid.:rolleyes: There's also plenty of small tribal wars, like in Darfur, again we must resist the urge to interfere.

Damn, you are so right. It is so true. Just think if the money was spent here. And the dwindling population there......Ah, to dream.

And the Earth's resources continuously dwindle— there' simply not enough to go around. A practical solution to the second and third world's population crisis would be to do nothing, let them figure out that the number of humans outnumber that of loafs of bread.

I see the standard of living of the western countries going down or at risk.

The world cannot support another 5 or 6 billions at the living standard of the western countries. Not saying they do not deserve it, the world just cannot sustain it.

Not enough resources to go around. Wars now for oil, wars in the near future for food and potable water, without mentioning all environmental disaster who coming in baggage.
