Anthony Benedetto was born on August 3, 1926, in Astoria, Queens, New York City, one of three children of Anna (née Suraci) and John Benedetto. His father was a grocer who in 1906 had emigrated from Podàrgoni, a rural eastern district of the southern Italian city of Reggio Calabria. His mother was a seamstress who had been born in the U.S. shortly after her parents also emigrated from the Calabria region in 1899. Other relatives came over as well as part of the mass migration of Italians to America.

Really? I'm skeptical of that assertion to be honest, most Britalians look nothing like that, most here would likely mistake him for either an Arab or a Jew.

Well some of them might be mixed. But I don't think he is atypical for Calabria considering I can name many people with a similar look off the top of my head.
