The guy got kicked from school for speaking Turkish outside the classes and not agreeing with the Islamist/Gulen views of his teachers. Also for sticking up for his own Kemalistic idea's.

Where this happened?

So the guy has been persecuted both by the state for speaking his mothertongue and by the fcking gulenist freaks?

No it was a public (Montessori) school founded by Gulen muslims.

Wearing an Ottoman t-shirt, being pan-Turkist(from Rabia Kadir I guess that) and being Kemalist at the same time :thumbs If he is a bit Socialist too, than he is my soul twin.

He looks Pontid with some kind of Taurid IMHO.

But from what I observed, those who are proud with Ottomans are anti-Kemalist and vice versa... I hope we youth will break this bias.

I have never seen an Immigrant Turk who is pro Ottoman but anti-Kemalist.

The ones I have seen are both pro-Ottoman and pro Kemalist.

How is it in Turkey? Are pro-Ottomans anti-Kemalist?

Just the very very religious Turkish immigrants seem to be anti-Kemalist.

I think many of us Turkish immigrants living in Germany think a bit different than the ones in Turkey since most of us are proud with Ottomans since they were our ancestors as well as proud to be a Turk and since Turkey is our native country and it was built by Ataturk, we are also Kemalist, since being anti-Kemalist as well as anti-Ottoman mean for most of us being anti-to-yourself (basically hating yourself).

Honestly if I think about my friends from work, school, uni etc. they were all pro for Ottomans and Kemalists, but as I have mentioned the very very religious ones were anti-Kemalists but they were in minority. Some of my friends were wearing hijab and even they were pro-Ottoman and pro-Kemalist.

In Turkey, they always try to show Kemalism and Ottoman Empire as contrasting things. Actually our both pseudo-Kemalists and so-called neo-Ottomanists achieved to brainwash our youth.

It is nice for Turks there. Probably living in gurbet has some advantages.
