....Canadian! And yes I'm recreating this thread since it had a poll and apparently got deleted due to technical issues. I'd like more thoughts results etc.

Anyway, like I said before, the guy is Canadian, but identifies himself as "Cossack" despite being born in Canada and only having one "Cossack" grandpa. Its obviously not the only part of his ancestry though and he is actually a mixed bag of Balkan Slav, Ukrainian, Russian and other stuff that he is crypto about. Yet, he identifies himself as "Cossack". Its funny because he identifies himself so fervently with this Old World ethnicity perhaps more then any other New Worlder yet its not the complete sum of the whole so to speak. Its to the point where its borderline juvenile IMO, and he also runs a business where he pimps his Cossack ancestry to market what he sells. Also just to be clear, this is someone I know outside of anthro forums

I find this all very fascinating from a social-ethno-anthropological side of things.

Here are some of the other things that make him peculiar:

-He is guarded about his last name/tries to hide it.

-Luuuuuvs Stalin. Thinks the USSR was best most perfect society ever.

-He mixes Marxist, Leninist, Stalinist thought with E. Orthodox Christianity plus Juche to come up with he feels is a complete, non-contradictory truth/philosophy

-He hates all other Slavs (Czechs and Poles) that are non-Balkan and Eastern

-He has a boner for N. Korean Fatso Dynasty, and Juche.

-Luvs conspiracy theories.

-Is a Free Mason.

-Thinks Ashkenazi Jews, Turkmen, Vikings, Slavs, and Sassanids are all the same people.

-Despite my attempts to educate him, he ignores the facts that I present regarding latest DNA findings and instead regurgitates his modge podge philosophy to prove his "point".

-Is Anti-Zionist yet claims Jews as his people because of the Khazar factor.

So am I missing something here? Was there some sort of esoteric philospohical movement that I am not aware that perhaps could help me understand this guys mindset better? He's an interesting fellow nonetheless and a part of me thinks he should subscribe to Apricity.:)

On the other hand I'm not sure TA is needs all this.:icon_ask:

Any let me know what you think.

Poll added to with some options so please vote.

Ironic that he loves Stalin and has Soviet sentiments. I guess he's proud of a past he's ignorant about.

All I see is a man who is trying to make himself feel special or appear so in other people's eyes.

And when you speak to him, this type of attitude he embodies. He would be so quick to tell you that you or anyone else for that matter is not "unique" yet deep down, he feels he is the "shit" so to speak.

Lol, someone voted for "23andme" testkit option...glad I put it in there this time.

edit: also whatever happened to the Cossacks in Russia after USSR firmly came to be, anyone know?:icon_ask:

Well they suffered under the policies adopted by the Bolshevik regime. Later on Stalin pursued the same policies of Collectivisation and Decossackisation, whereby hundreds of thousands of Cossacks where executed and entire villages burned to the ground because Cossacks were an independent people and therefore viewed as a threat to Communism.

After World War II, there was an event called the Betrayal of the Cossacks. It's quite a complicated subject, but basically Stalin branded Cossack prisoners of war as traitors for surrendering and had them executed upon their return to Russia.

Thank you!

Yes, and that's what I read, Stalin basically exterminated them!

Yet why oh why this delusional idiot has a boner for Papa Joe I have noooooo idea.

Well actually I kinda do but his reasoning is so twisted and screwed up I don't even wanna go into it.

Some notable quotes from this guy:

On basic Geography:

Baltimore and Buffalo are the same. They both begin with 'B'....

On US foreign policy:

American foreign policy eg. led by Vampire Bitches...Madelene Albright,
Condomsleeza Rice, Hitlery Clinton.

On culture history of the steppes

The Bulgars are Hunnic people but the Sarmatians were Persian
people.

On Russians:

Russians have a pension for suffering. They can take it.

On US involvement in WWII:

Patton with his queer pistols and Montgomery with his fag short-shorts who could not defeat one little German general in North Africa with American, British, Canadian, Australian, Indian, New Zealand and Arab troops would most certainly have been crushed by the Wehrmacht.

Sounds like a funny guy, I'd probably get along with him if I knew him in real life

He's an interesting guy for sure, but this is a typical conversation with him:

"I, I, I, I, I'm so great, there isn't anything I don't know...I, I, I,...."

Meanwhile, you are practically silent the whole time.:icon_neutral:

Well since I am a Russosceptic pan-Turkist warrior, probably we'd have clashes with this Cossack but my nation-based, unusual Socialism might cause a common point with him

Call him to TA!
