Her name is Eleni Foureira .
Her surname isn't Greek, so media asked her what kind of surname is that.
She said that her grandparent or something is Mexican, but gossip media found out that she is in fact Albanian (people in the neighborhood she grew up confirmed it) and her real name is Entela Fureraj

Don't know . Maybe she is ashamed of what she is ? Maybe she thinks that ''Mexican'' would ''sell'' more and make her more unique and attract attention?
Really, I can't see why. We have many popular singers that are not Greek, and don't have problem with their ancestry, I just think she wanted to play the ''exotic'' card, and then caught up with her lie, and could nothing more than deny it to save face.
