The Iraqis who had their aplications for asylum turned down by the danish government, and who then seeked shelter in the danish church Brorsons Kirken, where thrown out of the church yesterday, 19 male iraqis where arrested, together with 4 protesters. About 300 danes gathered around the church to protect the Iraqis, it is one of those protectors, sitting down on the street in protest, who is beaten in the video. Today, 18.000 people walked the streets in Copenhagen, to protest the Danish foreign policy. Iraq deny they have accepted that the Iraqi refugees could return, the danish government say otherwise. The danish Government claim there is peace in Iraq, but some of the regions that these Iraqis are returned to, is restricted area for journalists, because of the danger - so is there really peace ?

Yesterday, a invisible line was crossed, when a danish church where stormed by police. It so sad, that we have come this far...

There is nothing wrong with roughening up scum if they behave violently but this young girl only sat there in protest (what she stands for is wrong but it is her right to do so). Thank heavens it was filmed and I hope that she will be pressing charges. Because this is an essence assault. This girl did not behave violently towards the police (as far as we can see) and this violence is disgraceful.

This officer deserves to be investigated, sacked and put on trial for assault and the court should set an example as to show that this kind of conduct gets punished in a rechtsstaat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rechtsstaat).

Agreed. I don't know the entire story behind what happened, but the group was not presenting itself as hostile at all. There was no reason for them to use their batons the way they did. I smell a lawsuit against Danish Police. That was, by the looks of it, an Assault. Plain and simple.

And a big ass legal and (even worse) moral victory for the protesters. Bloody well done, Danish police !

@Brännvin - Yap this is just police brutality and should be treated as such.

I guess they don't distribute tear gas up in the North or have water cannons at all do they?

It looks like they were in the road, which is for people to drive on, not for stupid kid leftwing protestors to squat in.

Good on the Danish police for clearing these fucks out, it's about time we stopped letting them hold the rest of society hostage to their antics :thumb001:
