Just thought I'd let everyone know that FTDNA is offering a limited time sale on its 12 marker Y DNA test for $39.

The 12 marker test can be a good introductory Y test that can help determine basic haplogroup info, and it will store a sample at FTDNA that you can use to upgrade to additional testing later, if you so desire.
In my case, I ordered the 12 marker Y test a while back, because I already knew my overall haplogroup from 23andme and wanted to test for a couple of specific SNPs with FTDNA. By ordering the 12 marker test for a relatively low price, I could then test specific SNPs and get guidance for further testing from the admins of the R1a1a and Subclades project.
This is a pretty good deal.
