1 and 4, yes. 2 and 3, no.

I didn't know Jamie Farr / Klinger was Lebanese until I was an adult. I figured he was Italian.

#2 looks very Jewish to me, like Ashkenazi. It makes sense given the Hebrews and Phoenicians were neighbors.

2 is very arminoid, and 4 gives me an Arminoid vibe as well. 1 & 3 look Italian.

All of them are Lebanese.

The fourth actually has a common appearance for lighter Lebanese people.. a quite "Western" appearance actually. Americans would never believe someone like that could be "Arab", but yes.

Give it up.

Jews and Italians are not the same, no matter how much you wish it were true. The genetics doesn't ascribe to that.

Phonecians made little impact on the Sicilian gene pool.

Show me where I said they were, at least in this thread, that justifies you attacking me out of nowhere like a psychotic freak.

And as for the Phoenician comment, it's irrelevant as I never once in this thread said that Phoenicians had any impact on the Sicilian gene pool. If you knew how to read you would see that I said that #2 looks Jewish, which makes sense since Jews and Phoenicians were related. Where did I say anything in this thread about Italians, or Sicilians? I didn't, once.

Only the last guy could pass in Northern Europe.

Klinger looks too pure Levantine to pass in Europe.

Is 3 Paul Anka? He could pass in Southern Europe but looks admixed.

Number 2 looks like a bollywood light-eyed Indian too me.

I didn't attack you.

I was going on your past commentary, and thought you were implying that... I may have jumped the gun though. My apologies.

Your Jew hatred shows through in almost every post, though. You're so paranoid about someone comparing Italians to Jews (which no one did in this thread). But you don't have to worry because it's only the southerners who have that genetic affinity to Jews, not Venetians so your people are free from "tainted" bloodlines

I read the comment wrong, and overreacted. That's it. I apologized. I think you're a cool guy and wouldn't attack you anyway

I don't wish to throw this thread off on any further tangents so I now extricate myself from it... so carry on

Sicilians and Calabrians cluster with Ashkenazim right? But the European component present in Ashkenazim must be of Eastern European origin.

Why? Ashkenazim were in Germany before E. Europe - hence the name, Ashkenaz - Germany.

Actually, it seems most of the Euro component in Ashkenazim is Italian.

"Ashkenazic and Sephardic Jews have roughly 30 percent European ancestry, with most of the rest from the Middle East, the two surveys find. The two communities seem very similar to each other genetically, which is unexpected because they have been separated for so long.

One explanation is that they come from the same Jewish source population in Europe. The Atzmon-Ostrer team found that the genomic signature of Ashkenazim and Sephardim was very similar to that of Italian Jews, suggesting that an ancient population in northern Italy of Jews intermarried with Italians could have been the common origin. The Ashkenazim first appear in Northern Europe around A.D. 800, but historians suspect that they arrived there from Italy."

"The team found genetic traces of a period of intense conversion to Judaism during the time of the Roman Empire, when up to 10 per cent of citizens were Jewish. Among modern non-Jewish Europeans, Italians, Sardinians and the French are most closely genetically similar to modern Jews, the team found."

Actually, it seems most of the Euro component in Ashkenazim is Italian.

I know that Ashkenazim evolved across the Rhine, so their European component is probabably of Germanic ad Slavic inspiration.
