So, while checking out Map Porn I came across this interesting data. Your thoughts?

Doesn't really matter, only one thing worth highlighting: Respect to Greece for keeping some old Athenian wisdom!

If Turkey counts, the least european is Turkey and the more european is Lithuania.

That's really interesting. It seems people from every country have their own different reasons to feel less or more European.

Why would Turkey count in that poll? I can assure you Syria feels even less European if that is the case.

The results obtained from the UK are surprising. Could it be because there are too many non-europeans living there?

Brits rarely ever feel European. I think they always have felt themselves as a periphery.

I don't feel my self like European. I am Australian and proud of it... I know there are lot of people who their self feel like they aye European about i am not feeling like this.

That makes sense. Most overseas people of European background are first and foremost proud of being American, Canadian, Australian, Brazilian.

i feel the least european, germans think they are culturally part of europe but they much closer to japan than to france or uk. And russians are closest to koreans and chinese culturally, giving the fact they have no place in the eu and are bordering to east asia this trend will drastically increase.

Like i said germans are very different to all others imo in the eu, not long ago we even had our own script. We think we are europeans but we see how we are rejected by the others because of our extremism towards european integration which people are scared of.

It's hard to associate with a political entity that's not solely in control of your own nation without standardization of language, culture, etc. That's what prevents Europe from becoming a United States type of federation. The nations have larger barriers than the nations of North America had.
