The X chromosome is bigger than the Y chromosome sons get from the father. So Daughters have slightly more genetic material from the father than the son does.

From genetical point of view, it's a veeeery slight difference.
But in practice, boys tend more to resemble mothers and girls tend to resemble fathers...and what's next - we tend to resemble grandparents more than our parents :thumb001:

So. A grandson should be genetically close to their paternal grandfather than a grandaughter would be. Because they share the exact same Y chromosome.
