It depends on what Russians and what French. Icleandics would closer to Northern French than to Southern Russians like the Cossacks or Kavkazians, but certainly be closer to Northern Russians than to Southern French who are of Iberian stock similar to the Spanish.

My answer goes to Northern France, since most of its inhabitants are going to have Norman bloodlines, and Normans are known to be descendants of the Scandinavians who settled in that part of France.

Icelanders seem to be pretty close genetically to other NW Europeans in particular Norwegians and Danes. Northern French people are quite close to NW Europeans, just south of the British Isles, and so Icelanders must be closer genetically to northern French people than to Russians in almost all cases.

True, i think the one in the projects (I think Eurogenes) was closest to the Danish, which makes sense as the Danes are closer to Brits than Norwegians.

Mind that some of these Estonians might be mixed with Russians and that Russians look more eastern and what not than Estonians. Icelanders obviously look a lot more western.

Besides the only people I have seen in my country who somewhat resemble Björk the most have been ethnic Norwegians, not Saami(of course there are some Saami who like her as well, it's just part of the North European variety)
