British and Proud

I was reading through a few old copies of Identity Magazine this morning, when I came across the following letter:

Encouraging Repatriation (http://unrepentantbritishnationalist.blogspot.com/2009/08/food-for-thought.html)

Repatriation of non-Europeans is probably essential for the long-term well-being of these islands. However, as the BNP has made it quite clear in its policy statement, this cannot be enacted by forced repatriation as that breeds resentment in immigrants and liberals alike, plus the fact that the majority of Britons are decent people with a soft spot for the underdog.

For the answer we need to look to history. Isabella and Ferdinand repatriated the muslims from Spain not by force, but by the 'ham laws'. Every household was required to display a ham in the house (as an aid to good nutrition you understand) and the Moors finally got the message. Our ham laws could include:

Outlawing Halal slaughter. Outlawing the veil in public. Outlawing Islamic schools. Outlawing forced marriage. Outlawing the marrying of cousins from abroad or elsewhere. Requiring all clerics to be from Britain. A public commitment by senior Muslim clerics that Christianity and Judaism are the equals of Islam.

Perhaps the last one would be as effective as Spain's earlier 'ham laws'.

I can find nothing on the internet about the Ham Laws. Could anybody elaborate? Could somebody do a search in Spanish?

As you all know, the Moors conquered the southern part of Spain and it remained under their control for over 600 years. But, in January of 1492, a year, known to all Americans, the Moors surrended Granada, their last stronghold, to the Catholic King, and were finally driven out of Spain.

In July of the same year, the persecution of the Jews and those who had embraced Islam, anyone whose allegiance to the King and Catholicism was in doubt.

Many changed their names, but as Marie Antoinette was suppose to have said "Let them eat cake," the King would ferret out the non believers by declaring in effect, "Let them eat pork."

Thus came about the tradition of hanging hams on their doors and under the eves all around their houses to show they were the good guys.

It appears that it was also aimed at the Jews
spains expulsion of the Jews (http://www.sephardicstudies.org/decree.html)

PS I love the christian racist commentary!

It would appear that the muslim expulsion was in 1609

Nah, the ultimate victory came in 1212.
Grenada was allowed to continue to exist for a number of reasons, such as the timbuktu gold trade (note how for some reason, gold has always been traded for salt, nothing else. almost like there was a ancient command ;) sahara, incas etc.. same pattern repeated)

Anyways, only a lack of ships kept the crusaders from going south into the maghreb to fully wipe the almohads out. Nevertheless the almohads fate was sealed soon after anyway, to be replaced by another moorish entity.
In time there was a series of campaigns to finish retaking the whole old visigoth church area, but that was interrupted by the discovery of the new world, and thus lack of intrest rather than ability kept the moors in the maghreb independent for another half a millennia until industrial imperialist reared its head.... and the need for territory, and west saharan sulphur (today still the nr 1 spot for suplhur... kinda funny how this depopulated area is allowed to break up the unity if the african union etc :D )
